Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments why didn't they give me a visa debet a couple of months ago when I requested a card here??????????????I would have ordered my fist laptop by now!!!!!!aaarrrggggghhhhhhh.

message 6771: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Just realized something. At my previous job I was using a computer the whole day too and when I came home in the evening, msot of the times I didn't feel like suing the computer anymore. It would be for the weekend. But now when i come home from work I do use the laptop...can it eb because now i know there is Goodreads/ because in the end that is the only thing i am realy busy with.
Maybe when choosing a laptop I should just say that anything which gives me the best joy in using Goodreads will do.

message 6772: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I feel honoured. anybody ever been sked to be the official photographer at a wedding? The girlfriend of my boyfriend's brother is getting married and they asked me to be the photographer......first reaction: what???? me???? where do they get the idea to even think about me for something liek that on a day like that????? but they weren't joking.
I just wrote that I prefer not to because that day is too important and it isn't like you can jsut redo the pictures if they aren't good. Don't want to take the risk on a day like that for them. They aren't strangers to me. And what if I would say yes but for some reason I can't be there. Like being ill or not getting the days off at work...... hope she won't mind too much, I know she really wanted it.

rebecca j (technophobe) | 6029 comments Lisa - he was my sister-in-laws dog, and just like one of their family. He died last year, and they got a new dachsund, but Homer is still the smartest little dog I ever knew. We miss him.

message 6778: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments Oh Rebecca, I'm sorry he died. I have two miniature dachsunds and I just love them...I couldn't think about life without them.

Ouch Fiona, I hope no one was hurt.

Hey Fiona was Elizabeth joking with us in the thread about the polls? I sure hope so cause we weren't trying to be obnoxious.

message 6779: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments yeah I was shocked by her comment and I didnt' think she was joking because she didn't say LOL or anything after her comment.

Oh well, we were just having fun...

message 6784: by Carol (new)

Carol (caroldias) Uhhh big pics lol

Hii Emma! \o/

Ok, I shouldn´t be here, I need to study today. Big enourmous difficult Law exam today >.<

message 6785: by Esther (new)

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments Fiona wrote: "Anyone here actually read Lorna Doone? I want to but the style seems awful heavy."

I liked the book but the writing style certainly isn't light and airy.
Also if descriptions of juicy steaks make you queasy this isn't the book for you - just about all the, rather substantial, meals consumed by the main character are described in detail!

message 6786: by Esther (new)

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments First you all made me hungry for fish and chips. My favourite take-away which is unavailable here and top of my list for our visit to Blighty this summer. And I prefer vinegar to ketchup on my chips.

Then you made me feel sick talking about milk and Pepsi. I don't drink either of these separately and together they sound doubly revolting!

I thought it was normally necks you wring and only after an unsuccessful interview :0)

message 6789: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments Good Morning Hay!

Fiona cool Avatar.

I am so happy Lori is going to have Fool be one of the group reads next month too. YAY!!

Sorry that I Capture the Castle didn't make it but maybe if she does the YA section next month that will win. I have it on my list to read for the spring challenge so I kind of hope it does win for May. hehe!!

How is everyone today?

message 6790: by Carol (new)

Carol (caroldias) Hey Lisa ^^

I think it´s empty here today :(

And ha! That´s why I wasnt finding Fiona in the group today... she changed avatar lol

message 6791: by Lisa Julianna (new)

message 6792: by Carol (new)

Carol (caroldias) Ohh you too are here, yay! lol

Evening? Wish it was :(

Can I shout with my boss? Pleeeease?

message 6793: by Esther (new)

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments Good Evening everyone.

I think I have the stomach lurgy as I have felt like throwing up all day.
My parents have a guest so the children and I were invited to join them for a fish supper. Tasty and easy for my stomach to handle.
Now my husband is helping our daughter write the sermon for Friday (She loves writing songs but the Bible doesn't inspire her in the slightest) while I rustle him up some supper.

message 6794: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I just wanted to say, I finally caught up, and DO NOT think Elizabeth was fooling. I think she genuinely hates YA and finds it childish. Fine. I like lots of it, though. ICTC being one. Has anyone read The Hunger Games? That was awesome!

message 6795: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Kandice, I am going to read the Hunger Games in a few days, I got it from the library yesterday!

message 6796: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Fi, I'm reading ICTC! I like it so far.

message 6797: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) ewwww tweety breath

message 6798: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hahahaha. Cassandra is an interesting character, I love her. The family is just so poor.

message 6799: by Kandice (new)

Kandice She's a lovely character. I think I was actually picturing Bryce Dallas Howard in my head, instead of the girl who played her in the movie. She is just so infinitely likable. You want her to do well, but you also understand how much herintegrity means, and that she will not be disloyal. Even if that ruins her chances of success.

message 6800: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hahhaha. Well, there are still hints to that.
