Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Hahha! I'm overwhelmed, and I only have 187. Realistic fiction first, then fantasy, then historical, then classics, then non fiction.

I've never read SK but I went through a stage of reading James Herbert and some of his stuff can be gross.

message 6657: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I organize my real book shelves by author. My faves on top shelves. After authors are taken up and I'm looking at a lot of "single" books, silly as it sounds, I organize them by size, shape and color. I like my shelves to look pretty:-)

message 6658: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I organize my books by genre then author then size.

message 6659: by rebecca j (new)

rebecca j (technophobe) | 6029 comments My shelves on GR are organized by genre, but the ones at home are grouped by author. Grouped is the word, because the groups aren't in any particular order, except that I have one 5 shelf bookcase that is all Andre Norton books, and a smaller one that has all the Anne McCaffrey books. My books on GR are constantly getting new "tags" to keep track of them, and I've been going through book lists to add ones that I forgot. My children's shelf has expanded quickly this month by perusing that shelf in the explore books section. I hadn't realized how many of those I have read over the years to my classes!

I'm so out of touch I hadn't heard about this. It is so sad. I always liked Natasha Richardson.

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments Perpendicularandi wrote: "I have to figure out how I want to organize my books. I haven't done any yet. I need to start soon, though, especially my to-be-read pile (over 3000)."

I have had to put read books in a box to make room for all the others.
My main shelf is alphabetical order according to author surname but for the rest it is big books on the bottom so the pile doesn't wobble too much :0)

message 6672: by Carol (new)

Carol (caroldias) It´s like flood thread \o/

And good morning everybody!

message 6673: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (readr4ever) | 510 comments After following what happened to Natasha Richardson, I'm glad that I let the ambulance take me to the hospital last Friday after someone plowed into the back of my vehicle. I got checked out and had some X-rays taken to make sure there were no fractures. I am having a few problems, but I am confident that they are minor. Of course, I am staying in touch with my doctor. I don't know if it would have made any difference if Natasha had gone straight to the hospital or not, appears that there was a delay of symptoms. That so often happens in accidents. It's rather scary, but it does point to getting yourself checked out after any accident. She was a favorite actress of mine, and I feel so bad for her husband (another favorite of mine) and their sons.

message 6674: by Carol (new)

Carol (caroldias) I don´t know who you are talking about >.<

Kathy (readr4ever) | 510 comments Rachel wrote: "I cry every time I watch Love Actually and there is that scene where he is at his wife's funeral. It is so heartbreaking."

Rachel, I thought of that scene in Love Actually, too, when it was announced that Natasha had died. Love Actually is one of my favorite movies, and Liam Neeson is excellent in it. Now, I won't be able to watch it without being even more broken up during that scene.

message 6676: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) bored of reading? or just bored of reading boring things?

Allison (inconceivably) I swear, I am mailing you a copy. If I did, would you read it? Not like...immediately, but soon? I just know you'll love it, esp. since you love ICTC so much...Anne is another lovely coming of age type story, and she is sooooo much fun. Then, of course, there is the rest of the series...but we'll start small :)

message 6679: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Fi, I'm going to read ICTC starting Sunday.
