Emilee, I am not doing my dream job but luckily for me it is my first priority, a job that interestsme, makes me curious, teaches me a lot of new things and so on. So for now I have always enjoyed my job. Would never have thought I would work in finances or even like it but I am enjoying it. So on monday I am actually looking forward to go to work.

I have to part-time jobs one as librarian , on as a bookkeeper.
Being a librarian is nice I meet bookish people, see all the new books etc but there is lot of bureaucracy being part of the local community centre and clearing up the mess people make of the shelves can be tedious.
On the other hand the bookkeeping I do from home and am more or less my own boss. And even without those freedoms I just love the work. When get going I become so involved I forget to eat and only get up from my chair because my bum goes numb.
I consider myself incredibly lucky.

Our Friday night services are dependant on sunset so when the hour changes starting time changes from 17:30 to 18:30.
This year the hour changes 2 days before my daughter's Bat Mitzvah. I am wondering just how many people will turn up an hour early!

Jeane I am so glad you enjoy your job. I am working as an insurance adjuster. Basically an extremely thankless job. I have learned a lot about medicine by reviewing medical records but I just don't feel that I am benefiting anyone or helping anyone, I feel like I'm stagnet!

message 6507: by [deleted user] (new)

Esther did anyone show up early? It is so hard that time change!

message 6508: by [deleted user] (new)

message 6509: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I just realized something...when I came to Dublin in November I told myself I will only buy a book if the book I bought before is finished and besides that I go tot he library......right. I kind of forgot about my plan. I do go to the library, really a lot but of all the books I bought since november I read one. I have ten or twelve books that I bought since november. It is a big stop for me till I read them. And I will have to because i really don't know where i can put them for now as we are sharing a house, so we have one room we don't share wich is our bedroom.

Way to go ladies!
You broke the sound barrier, I mean... uh.... fine posting job! haa haa

That is quite an accomplishment!
Although I have to question your sanity a bit, it would appear that once you set your minds to something, you see it through all the way :)

Loves, hugs, kisses

message 6533: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) you're not the only one questioning our sanity ;) I do that daily.

message 6535: by [deleted user] (new)

Lori: love the new Avi! The Dark Crystal is one of the best movies.

Maybe I should watch that tonight! I really need to get it on DVD as yes I still have it on VHS.

message 6536: by [deleted user] (new)

We are some days sane and other days should be in a nut house.

message 6537: by [deleted user] (new)

So what do you all think to Fiona's idea of hitting 20,000 posts! I think that we can do it!

message 6538: by [deleted user] (new)

I am actually going to go read for a bit. Or maybe finish my quilt top that I started.

Until I log on again!

Dark Crystal was better when i was kid. But those Gelflings are gorgeous. Very fairy like....

20,000..... good luck! Its a lofty goal :)
But something tells me you will be able to do it!

Fiona, you just make me think about the first time i went to theatre in England. It was in Nottingham and went to see an Agatha Christie play. It had been a dream to once see a play based on one of ehr stories and i think I felt like the happiest girl in the world!

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Goodmorning!!!!!! Is any of you waking up in the weekend around the same time you do as when you work? I do and my getting up time to work is 6.22am...

Sunday and what a surprise this weekend, there is sun in Dublin!
I feel like I have done already so much since I left work friday but probably because i did the things i planned till now. I walked home(or almost as the last part i took th ebus) which for people who live here would seem crazy because it isn't really nearby. Yeserday I went to see the exhibition about crime writers in the long room at trinity college. very interesting and that Long room is courgeous...full with old books from floor till ceiling....my breath seemed to stop the moment I saw it. Spent the afternoon in the city centre with my boyfriend and saw the Irish getting ready to celebrate. Hopefully the weather doesn't change today and hopefully I go for a walk. And i want to read Grave sight compeltely today....but that is a lot to ask.

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments Congratulations ladies on hitting 10,000 posts. I say we can hit 20,000 in no time. :~)

Saved by Grace said: I hate hospitals. I don't care that they help people. I still hate them. I hate the smell of them and the long white/tan hallways and the beeps of those machines and how helpless my grandmother looked. I hate MRI's and operations and X-rays. I hate, hate, hate hospitals and I never want to go to another hospital for the rest of my life.

I am so sorry that your grandmother is going through a rough time and that you are too. Hospitals can be no fun especially when a loved one is in there. Hang in there Grace. *hugs*

message 6546: by [deleted user] (new)

Fiona: how was Carmen? I have always wanted to see that Opera! I have several copies of the music and absolutely love it.

message 6547: by [deleted user] (new)

Saved by Grace: so sorry.

I worked in a hospital a long time ago. I always thought we should paint the walls to be more cheerful and the smell, don't know how to get rid of that! But completely agree!

message 6548: by [deleted user] (new)

Lisa: I hope you were able to go back to bed. 4 am is jsut too early.

I on the other hand should have got up at 6 am to start getting breakfast and the family ready for church. Oh yeah now I'm online. Brilliant. I guess I needed a littel time for me. Oh we woke up late. I am sure we'll be walking in 10 minutes late. Oh well. At least we are going.

message 6549: by [deleted user] (new)
