Probably why I liked the movie, its a lot different.

And Jonathan Rhys Meyers scares the cr*p out of me.
In some of the those pics HC s a bit young for me - prefer my men to be men not boys.
Not that I would avert my eyes - eye candy is eye candy!

When I said "if I didn't know what was going to happen" I meant it in a...general sense.
Doesn't Henry end up really fat? LOL. I don't really see that happening at this point.

I wouldn't mind how historically accurate it was, honestly, if it wasn't so BORING. But I was just dying for it to end both shows I watched.
haha, I don't think he'll get fat either :P who would watch then?
I've heard of Dissolution, but not read it.

erm...I'm not even sure. Perhaps I was just cranky? hehe. But...it just seemed to move sooo slow, and I didn't really feel that connected to any of the characters...even the hot ones were annoying me.

I've seen the series with Ray Winstone - it was good. I also know a reasonable amount about Henry VIII as I did an extended essay on him at school.
My first beef with the series was that if is is called The Tudors it should start with Henry VII.
I could forgive the historical inaccuracies in exchange for the lovely (if inaccurate) costumes but it just seemed to drag on and on...

I might start watching again to see JRM playing Henry VIII fat and stinking with ulcerated legs!

Who knows, I just have one episode left on the first disk...I'll probably watch it tonight. Maybe I'll like it better

It had a somewhat disturbing shot of Mary Boleyn giving him a...well. You know.

I agree: Elizabeth part I & II, The Tudors, two versions of The Other Boleyn Girl - where is the rest of English history?
My favourite period of English history is the Civil War. Last time I saw a drama set then was mid-1980s.
I haven't even found many books set in that time.

From 2-4 every day all the slushes and drinks and stuff are 1/2 price. Its pretty cool.

I should also be reading but I'm reading Cranford and it is a little too melodramatic for my present mood.

Unless I'm so into the book I can't stop, of course...

See you chicks later!"
byyyyyye! (esp. since I "left" like 20 min. ago)

I noticed Mr. Thornton's little hints of falling in love with Margaret so much more...and when he did the whole "Look back! Look back at me!" thing...I just melted away. I didn't know whether I wanted to cry or jump his bones.

I need to read Bleak House too! I'm def. going to wait and watch after reading on that one.

I suppose thats kind of rude but...it saved him having to make his pitch for me just to say no anyhow.

Gosh. Imagine having to read a book that hasn't been made into a BBC movie.

I think I'll watch Jane Eyre with Timothy Dalton when I get tired of reading.
I have been reading in between posts, I promise :)
I'll get off now too, though (probably).
Byyyyyyye!

i enjoyed that one.
Just saw the waterhorse and it was so beautiful. especially as I have been there and recognized things. but th emovie was very good, really liked it.

Allison, sorry to hear you didn't like the Tudors. I may have liked it more because of HC. :D
