Kandice Hey, can someone post a picture of Dr. Manhatten? He's blue and COMPLETELY naked!

message 5808: by Kandice (last edited Mar 06, 2009 09:52AM) (new)

Kandice Shanks is awesome, but that look on his face gives the impression the guy behind him has ideas Shanks isn't interested in! Of, course it's O'Neill, so we know better, but everyone else might not!

message 5809: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Yeah, I have, I was just thinking of the uninitiated!

message 5810: by Kandice (new)

Rachel, when I notice there might be the slightest ossibility that I will finish my book while at work, I take another one with me or a bigger one.

Jackie (thenightowl) Where did the middle pic come from? I like him in that one. Blue becomes him, plus he has book. Double whammy for my nerd senses.

Oh why do my nails keep growing so I gotta keep cutting them and where is my nail file?"

Does anybody know the reason why my nails are like stone so everytime I cut them I have to push hard to get through them and msot of the time they jsut break while cutting them? It is normal that this way I hate cutting my nails...

message 5815: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Mine are like paper, and I can just bend and pull if I want. It sucks if you are at all interested in growing them!
You're lucky Jeane.

Fiona, do you know I work for an outsourcing company that works for Microsoft and I am actually working in a Microsoft building? Everytime i hear about computer problems linked to Microsoft I want to hide, even if I am in the credit and collections department...and not directly work for them.

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Oh by the way, guess where i went! the hairdresser!!!! My new junior manager who lives nearby told me the one at the bus stop is good according to his wife. So me towards ther eafter work. Price was the frist thing I asked: 30 euro. i think it is expensive for jsut washing and cutting but not compared to what I normally see. And you know what, she did practically everything I asked. According to herself her daughter has a bit hair like me so she udnerstood what I meant. i showed her how much I wanted of and told ehr that i didn't wanted something else and didn't wanted to come out with a different hair cut. And she is the firs tone who udnerstands that you can't cut my ahir in one time short. I only got an inch and a half off, according to her as I don't count in inches so in some way I feel I wasted th emoney for almsot no change. But the ends don't go everywhere anymore, there is a small change in how it looks. the same like before but more ordered.
I am going to ahve a shower, say nothing to my boyfreind and see if he notices anything. if he does then he is very good because an inch off isn't much! But I did it!!!!!!!

message 5822: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Yay Jeane! I don't think it's a waste of money at all. If oyu have split ends, your hair looks crap, no matter what you do to it. You don't want to have to do anything to it, so an inch is perfect. Good girl!

I am so proud of myself! It is also the first time i compeltely go on my own, decide to go and so on...nobody knows yet besides all of you that i went. You would probably not see that I had a cut but it feels more cleaned up.... Well...however it will look when it is dry and so, I did it. it is shorter, even only a bit more than an inch. Good that i took a shower because all the little bits of hair are out now. I can't believe that since I was born I finally came out of a hairdresser not feeling compeltely unhappy and bad!!!!!! the place didn't even look like a real hairdresser. It is above another shop, one small room, two seats and that is it but she did know what i wanted and what i was talking about!

I practically never talk. I just stare in the mirror and wait till they are finsihed. The only thing I said this time was to respond on ehr questions related to my hair and to tell her how i wanted it.

message 5825: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Fiona, you know how many cm an inch is? I showed her how much I wanted off with my fingers and couldn't really reply when she asked'about an inch off?'.

Jackie (thenightowl) I'm trying to get my hair long enough to donate, but I'm having a hard time not wanting to chop it off.

message 5828: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Usually, in my experience, if you don't get chatty with them, they kind of lecture you about the shampoo you should be using. Or, like last time, "Don't use your pony elastics so tight. You are damaging your hair.". I don't like that.

Jackie (thenightowl) Either Locks of Love or the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign accepts donated ponytails. You have to get it to at least 8 inches and it has to be healthy (no dying or bleaching). They take the ponytails and combine them with others to make wigs for cancer patients. Locks of Love concentrates mostly on children's wigs. I wanted to do it to honor my bestfriend who died of Leukemia 2 years ago.

message 5832: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Thats really awesome, Jackie

message 5833: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My daughters friend just donated 12 inches to Locks of Love. I have a girlfriend that donates, with 2 of her 4 daughters, every year to the charity that provides the free wigs to cancer patients. I don't think it's Pantene, though. I'm sure there are lots of them.

A former co-worker of mine donated last year, which is where I got the idea. Originally I was going to do Team in Training for the Leukemia Society, but this is when the economy started plummeting and I didn't feel right asking people for donations.

message 5836: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I would like to do it, but just can't let it grow long enough for them to accept it!
My daughter, poor thing, has beautiful hair, but it just sort of stops growing about her shoulder blades. Unfortunately, unlike Fiona, that's not a mistake. It really stops there. She can not cut it for a year, and it just... stays.

message 5837: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) ugh...this is going to be a long afternoon, I think...

message 5838: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Rachel, where did you get this information? I still haven't decided where to donate, but this is certainly good to know.

message 5839: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh that's awful. The little girl, Nicki, that donated her hair was so very proud. I mean she really believes a child with cancer will be helped because of what she did. I'm feeling sad.

message 5840: by Kandice (new)

Kandice She's 10. It was a big deal to her too, because she and Darby play soccer together and it was a little hard to grab a quick ponytail after it was cut. I know that doesn't seem like a big hardship, but I really feel upset about it.

message 5841: by Kandice (new)

Kandice A little girl they know can't play soccer this year because she has cancer. That made it much more real to them.

message 5842: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Awww, that makes me so sad Kandice.

message 5843: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I'm sorry jackie. I wasn't trying to make anyone else sad. I am going to try to look at that snopes thing. People talk about checking things on there all the time, I just never have. I would never tell the girls, either way.

message 5844: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Thanks for the information Rachel!

Kandice, it's not your fault. The little girl has her heart in the right place, but it's sick if Locks in fact scamming people.

message 5847: by Kandice (new)

Kandice She has called me twice. She is sipping Gatorade, not feeling great, but keeping it down. That kid is the love of my life! She said she was worried I wouldn't go to my movie because she was sick, but she really wants me to! How perfect is that?
