Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments LOL I agree with Jackie...I would bring my own food...poor turtles...lol

message 5452: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh! We had skunk once. You have to dress it very carefully, so as not to puncture the scent sack. It was dark and kind of oily. A little like a turkey drumstick.

message 5453: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I voted Fiona. This isn't criticism, but the last paragraph shows twice.

message 5454: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Most people think it's really horrid. They don't smell that bad to me when they are outside, but I certainly not want to get sprayed by one. I can't think of what to compare it to.

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments I am so pissed at the moment. The school where my son and daughter go searched our van. I'm not so mad that they searched the van, what I am mad at is before they could pull him out of class and search the car they had called the police department and had 3 cops there before they even saw that there was NOTHING in the car.

Their search dog I guess went nuts when it came upon our van. The dog is trained to smell narcotics, alcohol and gun powder. My husband who is the one who really uses the van is into high powered rocketry and we think there may have been some left over gun powder residue in the van.
Yes, I know I sound like a very naive parent but truthfully my son is a good kid. He doesn't do drugs or drink etc...
I just want to call up the assistant principal and yell at them.

Ok done ranting.

message 5456: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) If you're close by it almost smells like really bad urine, but a bit more acidic and its really strong. It penetrates everything.

When I was in college I lived in a house that had a skunk living under the porch. Pepe le pew would go stink bomb up the street and then come home to sleep.

message 5457: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Galexy is the one like Dove, right?
I think I may need some chocolate too. I still only have espresso beans, so...

message 5458: by Kandice (new)

Kandice It looks just the same. Now why would they think the name Dove would work here, but not in England? Vice Versa for Galaxy. That's weird.

message 5459: by Kandice (new)

Kandice *hugs back*

Of course. I would like to know why she was handing him over, so write...

message 5460: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Dark chocolate is my favorite too. Or bittersweet. Milk chocolate is nice with nuts, but too sweet on it's own.

message 5461: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Erasmus, Erasmus... that's the name of a ship in Shogun! I knew I knew that name.

message 5462: by [deleted user] (new)

My Grandpa owns a few cows!

message 5463: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay so I take a day break we hit 8000 posts plus I come back to over 800 posts. Wow! Busy!

message 5464: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow! this is so funny!

message 5465: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't know if we have Galaxy chocolate over here.

message 5466: by Kandice (new)

Kandice They are all good sections, as they are all written by Stephen King. That's all.

message 5467: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Hi Emilee:)

message 5468: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Mike Hanlon (I read it quite a few years ago)? Anyway, he will. They all end up being completely essential to the end of the story. I think he means you to be afraid because of what's happening, and instead, you're afraid of his writing skills! Only you;)

message 5469: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Sorry, I had a bit of work to do. I'm off in 13 minutes, so I will be commuting home.
Have a nice sleep Fiona:)

message 5470: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I just got home from my church orchestra practice :) yay.

I'm going to make mac and cheese for dinner and then try to finish N&S

message 5471: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments Ok, from the skunk talk I have to say that I do enjoy the smell. I wouldn't want it as a perfume or anything but I really don't mind.

message 5472: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments And I love the "You know you're from 'insert state here'" things. I'm gonna look up the ones for Michigan.

message 5473: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments Some of the highlights.

You know you're from Michigan if...

"Vacation" means going to Cedar Point.

At least 1 member of your family disowns you the week of the Michigan/Michigan State game.

Half the change in your pocket is Canadian... eh!

You drive 86 mph on the highway and pass on the right.

Your idea of a traffic jam is 40 cars waiting to pass an orange
barrel.

You know how to play (and pronounce) Euchre.

You bake with SODA and drink a POP.

You show people where you grew up by pointing to a spot on your right hand.

When giving directions, you refer to "A Michigan Left".

You know that Kalamazoo not only exists, but isn't that far from Hell.

message 5474: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) ewwwww...we had cheapo mac and cheese and it was nasty :(

oh well.

message 5475: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) hmmm, I looked for CT jokes but they're just not funny.

message 5476: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I hate boxed mac and cheese. bleh!

message 5477: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL...that was enough, Jackie ;)

message 5478: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I missed you girls during the day today. I came back to 200 posts.

message 5479: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I was wondering where you were!

message 5480: by Jackie (last edited Mar 04, 2009 06:35PM) (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) My stupid car battery died this morning, so I had to wait almost 2 hours to get it fixed. I was late to work and then had to go off to a company meet an hour away. As I had said in the Voyager thread, I didn't mind waiting for the car battery to get fixed because I spent the time with Jamie. :D

message 5481: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) nice! :D A...lucky accident, I suppose :)

mkay, I haven't had much time to read today...so I'm off to read North and South!

g'nite Jackie!

message 5482: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Nite!

message 5483: by Esther (new)

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments I get back to over 200 posts and then all you girls go to sleep on me :0(

message 5484: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Esther wrote: "I get back to over 200 posts and then all you girls go to sleep on me :0("

we have an early bedtime so we can get up and start all over ;)

message 5485: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Good mooooorning everybody!

message 5486: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments Good Morning Allison and everyone else :~)

message 5487: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) :)

message 5488: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Morning everyone! A bit groggy thanks to a late night of reading.

message 5489: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I hear that, Jackie! I was up way past my bedtime last night, haha.

message 5490: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) N&S or the Stand?

message 5491: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I finished N&S, then I started Eleven on Top.

Gah, I really need to finish The Stand though. Maybe this weekend.

message 5492: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Damned you've burned right through the Plum series! lol. I have to look for the first one at my library.

message 5493: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Although, more likely the next books I'll be reading are Howl's Moving Castle, Frederica, and the rest of the Stephanie Plums.

message 5494: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Are you just not enjoying The Stand that much?

message 5495: by Allison (last edited Mar 05, 2009 07:41AM) (new)

Allison (inconceivably) it is really good...I just wasn't in the mood for it one evening, and picked something else up. Now I just can't keep going with it...I have no idea why. I REALLY like it, I'm just...nuts? haha.

Loving Voyager?

message 5496: by Allison (last edited Mar 05, 2009 07:43AM) (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Jackie wrote: "Damned you've burned right through the Plum series! lol. I have to look for the first one at my library."

They are super easy reads, and they are HILARIOUS. Oh my goodness, they make me laugh. Plus the men are just...sexy.

Between the guys in these books, and Jamie and Mr. Thornton...I'm quite the book slut these days.

message 5497: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha Heather, I know what you mean. I've given up trying to catch up when I miss stuff.

message 5498: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Good morning/afternoon Fiona!

message 5499: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I <3 Voyager so much more than DIA! I read a couple of chapters last night and then ended up skimming through future chapters. I'm so nosey! I couldn't deal with the anticipation. lol

message 5500: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "I hate stopping books in the middle, I used to but it annoyed me even then - it's like book-adultery or something."

I do too. The Stand is having a very strange effect on me.
