Laura (apenandzen) YIKE, dumb idea switching you guys to the bottom floor. If your customers are anything like my dau. when she has a problem with her phone, WATCH OUT!

Here's to locked doors in the future! And an armed receptionist!

message 5352: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) WOW Kandice, that would be scary. People get so freaked out with cell phone contracts. Sounds like everything went wrong all at once!

Thank GOD you weren't alone.

message 5353: by Kandice (last edited Mar 04, 2009 07:10AM) (new)

Kandice I suspect the receptionist is in a LOT of trouble today! My husband was so angry when they decided to switch floors, anyway, then this happens!
People just get so bent out of shape. Of course, now I am handling his dispute, and he is not going to get what he wants, but at least now they are aware of how bad a situation it is.

message 5354: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) do you guys have a crap list, or at least some kind of note you can put on his account to warn other people that would have to deal with him?

message 5355: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Any T-Mobile rep that pulls up his account for ANY reason will see what happened, in BOLD, but in the meantime, his account was already suspended for non-payment.
I just got a call that we are having a meeting about security at 11. I hope they feed us lunch!

message 5356: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hahahaha.

message 5357: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Good luck at the Dr's Fiona! And glad you got a new keyboard!!

message 5358: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yay I'm so glad you're going to the dr! Come tell us what he says.

message 5359: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) oooo I'm sending back Netflix movies today, so the first disk of the Tudors will be coming! Yippee.

message 5360: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That was weird. Our internet went out, at home, for an hour. I didn't really expect it to work just now.
In case I get back on late, I hope it goes well, Fiona. I also really hope he can easily remedy whatever it is!

message 5361: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Allison-I'm thinking of buying the first season. Let me know if you think it's worth it after the watch the first one.

message 5366: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Its too quiet on this thread! I have some downtime right now, but no one is here...so I went and found books to add to my TBR instead :(

As Fiona would say...Woe!

message 5367: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments I am semi here Allison...been reading and off and on checking here...hehe

Rachel, I have never had a job where there was bulletproof glass around me. I have worked in banks and didn't have that. That to me is kind of scarry.

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I have just kicked my knee, weel a point under it agaisnt a corner of the desk....that hurts. the pain goes through my body till my head! Why is it that we don't manage to reach that certain point on our body that hurts but that the corner of a desk always touches that point that goves most pain?

For the first time since we work in dublin my boyfriend is home during the week: I am not cooking for once!!!!!!!

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Fiona wrote: "Ick!

I'd like a nice pasta and pesto salad with spinach and pine nuts."

My boyfriend is preparing a meal of pasta with tuna, tomato sauce....probably will be a bit spicy again. A little for him is always a lot for me. But he makes it very good.

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Kandice wrote: "Chicken can be really good if you prepare it right."

I prepared for the first time in dublin a chicken meal last sunday. the farm from where it came was even written on it! It was chicken, italian style vegetables and rice with korma sauce. i don't liek sauces at all but korma sauce is yumie

message 5376: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I lost a bunch of pictures and all my college papers because my stupid laptop gave out once...I'm such a moron for not backing everything up.

I hope you find yours!

message 5377: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Mr. Thornton is so wonderful :) I can't wait to read tonight, I'll probably be able to finish.

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "I didn't. :(

I even lost my uni dissertation, not that it was any good. I think my dad has a hard copy, not sure. Oh well. May as well never have done it now."

message 5379: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) this is the one thing that really SUCKS about computers.

message 5380: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I just had to count out these greasy dirty parts, and I washed my hands twice back in the shop with the "good soap" and I still feel DISGUSTING.

yuck.

message 5381: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) All the work gloves are huge, and I have teeny hands.

eh well, I'll live :)

message 5382: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) especially since one of my coworkers just gave me a mini butterfinger! yummy.

message 5383: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "How about rubber gloves?"

eh. They don't make me do the nasty stuff that often. The guy that usually does it is just off today.

message 5384: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) is IT still going well?

message 5385: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) mmhmm...I need to finish The Stand.

message 5386: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) :) N&S just went a lot faster for me.

You only gave it 4 stars, punk!

I moved P&P from 5 to 4, hehe.

message 5387: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) don't let me pressure you :P I'm kidding.

I really wish we had 1/2 stars though :(

message 5388: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That meeting was crazy!!!!
Fiona-I'm sorry there was no quick fix for your neck!

What happened??

message 5390: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Allison, have you seen the "glove in a bottle" they sell at Home Depot? It's in the paint department. It's like lotion you apply before a nasty job and it makes whatever gross stuff just wash right off afterwards. It's only like $3 a bottle, and very worth it. If you don't have to do it very often, though... may not need it.

message 5391: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Kandice, thanks for the tip! I'd never heard of that.

message 5392: by Allison (last edited Mar 04, 2009 12:03PM) (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I can get it and write it off to an office expense :)

message 5393: by Kandice (new)

Kandice They are installing new security buzzers under the desks. We had them upstairs, but when we moved down here, they just didn't put them. It's a laugh, because the security guys that walk around are all old and retired. I just don't see them taking someone down!

message 5394: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hahaha...but still, it might make you feel a bit safer.

Allison (inconceivably) Rachel wrote: "Arrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhh! I hate Australian Customs!!!"

What did those loonies do now?

(lol...like I've ever had to deal with them)

message 5396: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Lovely little side note-Guess who got the customer's issue? Yeah, moi! I am very good at dealing with very irate customers, (is that really something to be proud of?) even though I usually interact on the phone. I wont have to see the customerface to face, but they are going to know where I am when I am working on their issue. Makes me feel weird. Everyone knows all about it and is teasing me like crazy!

message 5397: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Australian Customs? Are you going somewhere?
No, unfortunately she was sacked. We have a temp today, and God knows who we will get!!!!

message 5398: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) aww, it stinks she lost her job...but well, you get what you deserve in the end I suppose.

Kandice, you are a very calming, authoritative influence I think (thats the vibe I get), so I see you being good with difficult people.

message 5399: by Kandice (last edited Mar 04, 2009 12:15PM) (new)

Kandice I'm sorry she lost her job too, but it turns out she has been leaving early a lot. We don't know, because we almost never ask her for anything, and we are behind the lobby. Anyway, she leaves, pretends she forgot to clock out, fills out a timeslip and still gets paid. Yesterday was just "Worst Case Scenario" and it bit her on the butt. She was gone when I got here.

Thanks Allison. *smooches Allison's cheek*
