Allison (inconceivably) especially if I keep posting.

message 5152: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) but it gets annoying.

message 5153: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Wishbone IS very cute, though.

message 5154: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I love Wishbone.

message 5155: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) LOL...this is what happens you're bored at work.

message 5156: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I think I started the Tudors pushing. It really is pretty good and steamy too.

message 5157: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) OMG he is so freakin' HOT!!

Ahem, I need to compose myself.

message 5158: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) haha, we all need a good raunchy TV show every once in awhile ;)

message 5159: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Jackie-I love Rome! I named my fish at work Titus Pullo because that guy... OMG! Very nice.

message 5160: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) CRAP. Rome looks good too :(

message 5161: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I would not give up food for all th world! I enjoy eating way too much, but sleeping, that I would like to be able to give up.

message 5162: by Kandice (new)

Kandice But they look so handsome in thier tunics.

message 5163: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) The girls I went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic with last night and I got to talking about books, and they were like "oh well, we don't really read we just like Nicholas Sparks..."

I was like, MAN...forget you guys. I wanna hang out with Jackie/Fiona/Kandice/Heather/TNBBC people! hahaha.

message 5164: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I haven't seen Rome yet, but I've heard good things about it. I'll be pushing that one if I like it.

message 5165: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) ...I didn't SAY that btw, just thought it.

message 5166: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yeah, I added Rome to my NF queue. Which now has like 35 things on it, and it usually has like 3. LOL.

message 5167: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "Allison wrote: "CRAP. Rome looks good too :("

Ugh Romans."

Romans=abs.

message 5168: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) LOL...only 35? Try 200 and something!! I add all the movies I see coming out that interest me.

I try not to talk to people about books face to face. They're just not as passionate and they think I'm crazy when I start talking about it. Like I have no life or something :/

message 5169: by Kandice (new)

Kandice The reason I enjoyed Rome so much, is that it was so close to Colleen McCullough's version. I have read tons on that time period, I'm fascinated, but hers just seems the most likely. Kind of raunchy and incredibly political. I mean those guys didn't take a leak without thinking of the political ramifications!

message 5170: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Oh! And thanks Allison:)Right back atcha...

message 5171: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yeah...I had to reign myself in last night, it was sad.

...although (Fiona you should be proud of my book pushing ability) I did manage to get off with a nice Graceling rec just the same...because one of the girls read Twilight and said she enjoyed YA fantasy based on that.

message 5172: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) AUGH! I want to read your Rome series so bad Kandice!! I just know once I start I'll want to read them all, so I'm trying to read a few things before I get going with it.

message 5173: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That's true! They are incredibly dense, so they are not quick reads! I adore the glossary in the back of each, and will occasionally read just that to get my "fix" of Rome. If you like mafia movies or books, you will be struck by the similarities.

message 5174: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "Not many people really GET the extent to which I love books. I mean, some - they like reading but it's just a hobby to them."

Exactly! I don't have any friends not on GR that understand me. *sniff*

It has just been bugging me lately, now that GR piles on books I want to be able to talk about them :-P my friends need to get with it.

message 5175: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) There will be no Otori series!

Just...Howl's and Fallen Angel.

message 5176: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "Yes yes yes Otori series starting with [b:Across the Nightingale Floor|77160|Across the Nightingale Floor (Tales of the Otori, Book 1)|Lian Hearn|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1170......."

I added it for the future :P My library does actually have the 1st and 3rd ones though, so I'd just have to loan out the middle one from somewhere else.

message 5177: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Just because something is added, it does not neccessarily follow that it will be read!
I know what you mean. Only a few of my friends read, and it's really just quick snatches when they have nothing better to do. I never understood that.

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "I feel like watching that cartoon about those dinosaurs... what's it called now?

Oh, I want An American Tale!"

THE LAND BEFORE TIME! Best freaking dinosaur movie ever.

I loved that movie when I was a kid.

message 5179: by Kandice (new)

Kandice My husband and I took my baby brother to see that when we were dating! He loved that movie, and I thought it was the sweetest thing for Vinny to take us. Petrie was my favorite.

message 5180: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I only have one friend that reads, but not as much anymore because she has kids now. I need to get new friends :/

I saw old Disney movies this past weekend- Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid and series.

message 5181: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona-I never really thought about that. You're right, though.

message 5182: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) All the Land Before Time characters are so CUTE!

message 5183: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) my first dog died when I was like...7, and my mom rented me that movie because she knew it was my favorite before she told me he was dead :(

message 5184: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I actually can see reading only 1 or 2 a year, if they really read those! What I don;t get is when people take 3 or 4 months to read one book. How do you retain any of the story for that stretch of time? Crazy!

message 5185: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I think some people rather veg out in front of the TV rather than do something productive with their minds.

message 5186: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Fiona wrote: "Allison wrote: "Fiona wrote: "Yes yes yes Otori series starting with Across the Nightingale Floor and/or Graceling. :D

Kandice Oh my goodness! You two are bribing each other!!! Too funny!

message 5188: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I'm so tired hearing about the damn Bachelor and his stupid decision. You can't find love on TV...get over it!! Only one couple has worked out on that stupid show. Why are people so surprised?

message 5189: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) What, you can give it but can't take it?

hahaha.

message 5190: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Jackie wrote: "I'm so tired hearing about the damn Bachelor and his stupid decision. You can't find love on TV...get over it!! Only one couple has worked out on that stupid show. Why are people so surprised?"

I 100% DESPISE that show.

message 5191: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I have never watched The Bachelor, and I really dislike those kinds of shows. My husband, however, would watch raunchy talk shows all day if he was off, and can't get enough of "reality" t.v. Blech!!!

message 5192: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Fiona wrote: "Not all TV is vegetative though. A good TV drama like Lilies, P&P and al..."

Oh, I agree. However, if you hear many of the conversations, particularly in my office they're just talking about "reality" tv shows like American Idol, The Bachelor, etc. They don't talk about TV dramas or anything like that.

message 5193: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) My sentiments exactly Allison!

message 5194: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) http://abc.go.com/primetime/bachelor/...

thats The Bachelor's website Fiona.

message 5195: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Yeah, I was forced to see that show once. It was sort of...sad.

message 5196: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) It's some poor smuck who is looking for love and has 20 women vying for his attention. He narrows it down to 2 and then proposes to the last women standing. Last night was the last show. He sent one girl home, cried like a baby over her and then proposed to the other girl. One the reunion show, which airs the same night, he broke off the engagement and proposed to the girl he rejected. Now tonight they have another reunion show to talk about it. I caught it on the news, I didn't actually see the show plus people keep talking about it in the office.

message 5197: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) What pisses me off is that the guy has a young kid. So now this kid is stuck in the middle of his dad's love life for the world to see.

message 5198: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) UGH! I didn't know that about this season, Jackie...no one at my office watches it, luckily.

What an idiotic waste of time.

message 5199: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Ugh, sorry I should have went to the rant page for this one. lol...too late.

message 5200: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) hahahaha, nu uhhh. It was a...random rant. :)
