Dragon's Oath (HoN Series) ... 7.12.11

Dragon's Oath (House of Night Novellas, #1) by P.C. Cast

The first in an enthralling new mini-series of novellas from the #1 bestselling authors of the House of Night, Dragon’s Oath tells the story behind the House of Night’s formidable fencing instructor – the love that will transform him, and the promise that will haunt him

In early 19th century England, long before he’s a professor at the Tulsa House of Night, Bryan Lankford is a troublesome yet talented human teen who thinks he can get away with anything… until his father, a wealthy nobleman, has finally had enough, and banishes him to America. When Bryan is Marked on the docks and given the choice between the London House of Night and the dragon-prowed ship to America, he chooses the Dragon – and a brand new fate.

Becoming a Fledgling may be exciting, but it opens a door to a dangerous world.... In 1830’s St. Louis, the Gateway to the West, Dragon Lankford becomes a Sword Master, and soon realizes there are both frightening challenges and beautiful perks. Like Anastasia, the captivating young Professor of Spells and Rituals at the Tower Grove House of Night, who really should have nothing to do with a fledgling…

But when a dark power threatens, Dragon is caught in its focus. Though his uncanny fighting skills make him a powerful fledgling, is he strong enough to ward off evil, while protecting Anastasia as well? Will his choices save her—or destroy them all?

Destined (HoN Series) ... 10.25.2011

Destined (House of Night, #9) by P.C. Cast

In Destined, the forces of Light and Dark collide as their epic struggle focuses on Tulsa's House of Night. Zoey is home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side and preparing to face off against Neferet. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx's gift of a human form, he and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together if Rephaim can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father's shadow.

But is Zoey really safe? Does she truly know those who are closest to her? And will love win when it is tested by the very soul of Darkness? Find out what's destined in the next thrilling chapter of the House of Night series.

Miss Asima (missasima) The only ones I've read are the first four of House of Night books. I never ended up making it through the fifth. Way too much name/brand mentions for me. Other than that I'm not sure why I didn't go on. I really did like the first few.
Is it worth reading the rest of the series? Are any of her other books good, worth recommending? :)

I to be honest with you I have no idea. The only series I have are the House of Night books. Which I enjoy a lot. So much happens in the last few books at that had me completely shocked and surprised. All I now is I seriously want Zoey to get that bitch Neferet in the end. Although I can't complain really because she does make a great villian.

As far as the other series of books go I have been meaning to check out some of them but haven't gotten around to it.

I have only read the House of Night of her books...I got about half way and haven't been able to finish it, I haven't been able to keep up, I don't know if it's because it's not what I was expecting, I think I'm so used to PNR that the YA takes me a bit to get used to. Who knows :)

I read to about book 5 and got bored! I really liked the first books, but then it was all about how many darn boyfriends she had, and she was kissing about 4 boys at a time...well not at once, but you know what I mean! I just lost intrest:( I did have someone tell me that got better on that end, and she had narrowed it down to one) I don't know, I might finish it when I run out of books I REALLY want to read:)

Yeah not everyone enjoys her writing but I don't know, for me I got caught up in the characters and personally I didn't have a problem with Zoey having a consort, a boyfriend, and a protector because I didn't want to choose only one myself. LoL!

Amanda (apizzol1) I read Goddess of the Sea and it read like a Public Service Announcement for Woman Empowerment (which Im all for but damn it was a lot) I barely got through the book and I think the only reason i did get through it was bc I was drunk off wine by the end. HAHAHA!!

message 8: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) To be honest I'm not a PC fan. I've read all of the House of Night series...and I was interested until she started author bashing in the last book. Now I'm just done. I hate when authors do that. It dates your book and makes you look like an ass. There's no need for that mess.

I read Awakened so long ago but I don't recall author bashing. What did she write? Not that I approve author bashing because I don't but depending on the context it may have been misleading.

Was it Stephanie Meyers? Or someone popular like that? I noticed another author did that...not by name, but they make refrences to Twilight, sometimes it funny, and ment to be, and sometimes it's condisending and rude!

message 11: by ~Jennifer~ (new)

~Jennifer~ (book_addiction) Nah it was Laurell K Hamilton...was just a wisecrack about the Anita character and the author. It irritated me.

Nice lol. I read the HoN books and I like them. I'll keep reading them.

I've been meaning to check out her more adult stuff. I'll get around to it.

Marie R. (mariekr) | 5 comments Well I read the first to House of night books and I really had to fight my way through them. I honestly don't know why but I never get through one of her books in one sitting. The first half is always... not boring but hard to get through. Yeah, maybe the first half is boring. But at the end of each book it always gets better and as gripping enough to keep me reading. And the thing with the many boyfriends was a minus for me, too.
I thought about reading one of her other series, too. Maybe later... Now my to-read-stack is big enough :)

Haha ... I love Stark too! But not sure if it is Heath or Stark on the cover of Tempted. A lot of people think it could be either one. And I can not wait for this book either!
