Amy (fantasydream3) | 2 comments I just finished reading Again the Magic last night, and it was my fourth LK book. I really liked this book, but I couldn't give it a full five stars for one thing that really bugs me about Kleypas's stories (or at least the few that I have read so far): she gives a lot of focus to the secondary couples, whether it's preparing readers for the next book in a series, or in a standalone book like this one. Although I liked Livia and Gideon, I did not really want to read much about them in this story which belongs to McKenna and Aline. I like brief mentions of secondary couples, but not whole sections and chapters about them. Of course, this is purely my personal taste. Does anyone else feel this way?

Fani *loves angst* (fanip) If you like LK's writing, maybe you should try some of her books before the wallflowers and Hathaways series. These books are ALL stand alone (the Bow Street Runners are a little more connected in plot but not couple-wise) but there is no secondary romance/plot in any of them.

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments I don't particularly like that in any book, but I haven't noticed it is a trend in her books. If it were, I wouldn't be such a big fan. It was glaringly obvious in Again the Magic and in one of her short stories as well..can't remember which one exactly. But with Again the Magic...I actually really liked Gideon and Livia's story. It was just right.

Tess, I re-read Again the Magic recently and feel as you do. I thought that the two romances complimented each other. I never felt that Gideon and Livia's story overshadowed Aline and McKenna's at all.

Carol Storm (lilybits) | 52 comments Gideon and Livia really made AGAIN THE MAGIC for me. I liked McKenna, but he reminded me a little too much of a certain Jamie Frasier!

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) | 2140 comments I just love this quote:

She smiled at him, though her hazel-green eyes were wary beneath the brim of a sodden hat. Right at that moment, staring at her across the hall, Gideon Shaw, cynic, hedonist, drunkard, libertine, fell hopelessly in love.
