Jody Kihara (jodykihara) | 169 comments Hi all, I'm designing the cover of my next book and I'm looking for some input on which
FONT works best.

If you'd care to take a look and let me know your preference, I'd appreciate it! The thumbnails are rough as the cover is just at the mock-up stage:
http://www.jodykihara.com/thumbnails.pdf

I need the font to be LEGIBLE (you can understand what the title is), and I'd also like to know which one GRABS you the most. The reason I'm displaying thumbnails is because people will see the thumbnail first when they're on Amazon, B&N, etc. - so it has to be something that works in a small size. Make sure you're viewing the .pdf at 100%

(oh, and sometimes pdfs don't display in Safari, so if you encounter that problem, you may have to try another browser)

Thank you so much!!!
Jody

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I like second row, in the middle.

message 3: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl Landmark (clandmark) | 148 comments I like either the 6FT Carolingia or the 8FT matura FX.

message 4: by Daria (new)

Daria (dariadeptula) I like 6FT Carolingia the best.

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 374 comments I like the St Charles one. The Arkham one is not clear and the n looks like a d so would not use that font.

Cindy (Squin) I like the 6FT Carolingia for sure. It's easy to read and also looks like it fits well with the cover.

Lisa Mccombs (lisamccombs) | 14 comments I really like the first one or the one beneath it.

message 8: by Bill (new)

Bill (reedye) | 42 comments I'd say the 6FT Carolingia too but I'd also say the author font is awful and unreadable for me.

Jody Kihara (jodykihara) | 169 comments Oh, the author font hasn't been worked on yet! That's still to come. :)

message 10: by Shelley (new)

Shelley | 20 comments For some reason, I don't like when the As and Es are not both either upper- or lowercase, so my vote goes to anything after the first row. Beyond that, I think it's a personal preference and I don't think you'll go wrong :)

message 11: by Paula (new)

Paula Williams (daystealer) | 43 comments I liked the MAEL font. It was thinner and taller with somewhat of a flourish at the letter tips. The others were too squatty and bold for my tastes.

message 12: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (lgcoleman) 6FT Carolingia for sure

message 13: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) It sounds like most of us are all in agreement. That's what I said too.

message 14: by Phair (new)

Phair (sphair) For what it's worth I liked the 5FT Matura best since the lettering, especially the T in Trail seemed to convey the movement & speed of the camels better. The more curly T's interrupted the action of the illustration. But that's just me.

Jody Kihara (jodykihara) | 169 comments Thanks so much everyone!
Your input is greatly appreciated. :)

message 16: by Déa (new)

Déa Solin I like 4FT, but 6T's great too.

Jody Kihara (jodykihara) | 169 comments Thank you - and nice to see a French 'Andréa' with an accent on the e! :)
(although I can never figure out how to do that without copying and pasting)
