We're staying at a friend's house until our furniture arrives, hopefully tomorrow. We signed a 9mo lease on an apt until we buy/build. My husband just left for his first day at his new job. Here's my dilema today: I finished my book yesterday and don't have anything to read. I really DON'T want to buy another book, but the new Lisa Scottolini looks good. Has anyone read Save Me yet?

Ahhh, Stacey, so glad you're there, safe, and soon to be settling into a new place. Your words "buy/build" indicate you expect to finally put down some roots in Phoenix. Yay!! What book did you finish yesterday? I'm thinking you were reading something I was eager to hear your reactions to. Maybe? Can't remember! I thought the new Scottolini book looked good, too, but haven't heard anything first-hand yet. Be sure to let us know what you decide. You've GOT to have a book in your hands this long day, after all! ;-)
Stacey,I am glad you arrived safely, and I love to chat instead of doing my regular daily tasks.
I am toying with the Scottoline book too. I am on the list for it at the library. Here is a review of the book by another favorite author.http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/24/boo...
Also, I loved her column yesterday about picture day. It made me laughhttp://www.philly.com/philly/entertai...
The NYTimes review was positive, and it was written by Caroline Leavitt. I haven't read any of Scottoline's books, but this one looked good.
Stacy-Glad to hear you guys are there and ok!!! I have only bought one by Scottline before and it was only ok for me. Happy unpacking and reading!
Stacey, are you all moved in -- boxes unpacked, kids back in school, routine established, etc? Did your hubby solve your bookshelf problem when he got home? Hope everyone's happy and starting to feel "at home."
All moved in, Mary! I decided to keep the kids out of school because school ends here in a few weeks + Madeleine starts middle school. I'm waiting for my license in the mail so I can register them. John found the perfect spot for the bookcase :) We're really loving it here.
Glad to hear that the move went well - I'm sure the kids are happy to have extra vacation time! When you move homes do you lug all your books with you or do you have a cull and only take favourites and TBR?
Stacy - so glad to hear that all went well with the move. Sounds like this one may be at least semi-permanent? Happy for you. Still, too bad we didn't get to connect while you were still here on the West coast. I'm planning a trip north late May or early June. So what did you decide about the Lisa Scottoline? I'm on the library holds list for it too. Have you found your local library & bookstores yet? It will be hard to beat Powell's.
Don't mention Powell's...I'll miss it dearly. I didn't go to the bookstore that day I had nothing to read. My hub drove me to our apt where I had a few books that I hadn't read. BUT I can't wait to get my hands on that new Scottoline! I have so many fabulous books on my TBR that I'm going to wait until it comes up at PBS. I'm #112.Sue-much to hubs dismay, I lug them ALL with me :)
Stacey - I'm sooo glad to hear that you made it safe and sound. How scary about the mover! I hope he's okay. I look forward to hearing how things are going now that you're getting settled.
