Julian or tom?
Julian for sure. He loved her enough to sacrifice himself for her. Tom was so boring.
Julian! is that even a question?! i really hated the writer for killing him in the end. it didn't seem fair for Julian to die to save Jenny while she didn't love him. he's so much like Damon in the vampire diaries and having Damon dead for about four chapters was bad enough!!
i can see why everyone is saying Julian, but jenny always felt safe around Tom, they had been dating for a long time,also i know what Tom's nightmare was going to be too, which shows he must of loved her and when they were apart, tom always said he'd protect her. But then tom did take her for granted sometimes and Julian is super cute when he isnt trying to be big and scary. But then when i really think about it, i'd definately go for Julian, just because he is mysterious and has never loved anyone but jenny. i wish he had never of died, but then i guess thats what makes it such a good story because it affects the readers too (and not just the characters) i do love reading L.J.Smiths work and you should read the other trilogy 'Dark Visions' it's really good too!!

Julian hands down. I don't think any of us girls care much about Tom. Tom is the typical handsome, egoistic guy who plays football in school and he took her for granted. He gets angry when jenny wears revealing clothes. Remember jenny saying how tom hated her to wear short skirts and such. And said tom would be mad if he saw her wearing the gold dress. Not my type. In contrast, Julian compliments her about how beautiful she looks in it. Julian lets her know how much he loves her. I've always had a thing for guys who seem cold but are warm deep down. He's mysterious, heartbreakingly beautiful and can be so gentle. One of my fav scene was when they were at the balcony at the senior prom. Jenny thought he was going to kill her and asked him to just get it over with. He said All right and kissed her and I melted. He loved her despite everything she'd done even till the end when it was obvious she didn't love him, he was willing to sacrifice for her. And he'd loved jenny since forever!If I were Jenny, I would choose him over Tom in a heartbeat. I think she stayed with Tom because she's used to it and that's what her friends would approve of. Somewhere in the book, was it after the fire? It said she looked at tom and he was human and her equal, not some insanely beautiful thing. She was definitely attracted to Julian but feels that he's way too good for her. She keeps saying she doesn't understand why he likes her and doesn't believe he really loves her until the part at the cavern. Ugh.. I hope there's a sequel and Julian comes back, maybe as a human, idk..

Neither. Tom is this controlling boyfriend who takes his girlfriend for granted (even though he DID change in the end - I still don't like him) and Julian is a creepy stalker & kidnapper.

Hey now, don't ruin our fantasies just yet. The difference is Tom is an ATTRACTIVE controlling boyfriend and Juilian was an ATTRACTIVE/charming stalker and kidnapper. It really is that simple jk lol

JULIANTom was a bit of a tool at the beginning, and I hold grudges. Julian really loved her in his own way, and more than Tom- just differently as well. And completely against his nature.
Julian all the way! Tom was a big bore and Julian had loved her forever.

After all, he protected her for all those years, protected her during all those games, and gave his life for her. He loved her despite being a Shadow Man. I wouldn't call him evil. He had his mean momments, but he wasn't fully evil.
Definitely Julian...I was so miffed she "chose" Tom and Julian died!!!

Julian all the way!!!!!!! Tom was just boring. and he anyoed me all the way though the book. although there were parts that he didnt and did try to protect Jenny at some points. but Julian was amazing! i loved it when they were together and just talking or he was procting her in the games....plus you cant really say he was eivl bc he died to save her AND her friends.
Julian and Jenny needed each other! I found it really sweet that Julian learned how to love from Jenny and how she promised to always dream

JULIAN!!!!! tom didnt appreciate jenny, and he didnt love her back. if he did, he'd have belived her when she told him that she was going to win the game and be free of her promise. besides, you dont see TOM dying for her. it happens to Julian. and i cried. Julian is just plain better.

Julian! Did you guys know that Smith is planning to write a sequel to this book? It's called The Forbidden Game: Rematch. But it will come after Strange Fate which is a sequel of another series she is working on.
Julian for sure. This book should have an epilogue; it was awesome.

I would say Julian! His love for her seemed more real. He told her about his love for her in a creepy way, but it was still true. Tom however sort of fell into the category of "you don't know what you have until its gone." Didn't he give up at some point? (I think in the beginning of the 2nd book)- I did feel bad for him though.
If you love someone you don't give up, no matter what, and you don't take them for granted. Julian being creepy, evil, a stalker or what ever you want to call him, never gave up on her. He even died to protect her. Its Julian all the way! :D
Julian...Tom is just the ordinary kind of guy.. Julian's much exciting ;)

Julian is the best! Tom doesn't even stand a chance next to him. Jenny really should've ended up with him and not Tom.
i hope they get together in the sequel

I agree about Tom. I like Julian better mainly because he actively pursued Jenny and saw the good in her that her own boyfriend took for granted. Tom just sort of tooled around and whined.
