I finally worked my way through The Deed of Paksenarrion. It took me a while but I enjoyed it.Next up is The Hunger Games. Time to see what all the hype is about.
The Hunger Games seems very interesting even though I spend most of my time reading only Epic type fantasy with more medieval themes. I may check it out. I just finished The Curse of the Mistwraith, although it had an interesting story line I found slogging my way through the middle of it a chore. I hope the rest of the books in the series stay as interesting as the beginning and end of this first volume.
I am now on a reread of Assassin's Apprentice / Royal Assassin.
Finished The Hunger Games a bit ago. It was entertaining beginning to end.I think I've settled on Hawkwood and the Kings for my next read. It'll be my first Kearney book outside of The Ten Thousand trilogy so I'm pretty excited about it.
Just finished with The Name of the Wind, really liked it alot. Back to the Malazan series, on book three, Memories of Ice.

I think if you stick with it you'll love the rest of the series. I do. It's my favorite fantasy series of all - The Wars of Light and Shadow, that is.
I finished [book:The Pride of Chanur and was going to proceed with the 2nd in that series, but then Regenesis came in the mail and I put it aside to read that as I just finished (and loved) Cyteen. Started listening to The Curse of Chalion as I always have an audio book going for when I can't actually sit and read.
Finished A Companion to Wolves last night. As much as the all the names and new words completely confused me, I really really liked the story, especially Isolfr's relationship with his wolf Viradechtis. Now reading The Black Prism.
Struggling my way through the last part of A clash of Kings.. GRRM has really created an awesome universe, and a cool set of characters but i am growing really tired of some of them, Catelyn and Sansa is really annoying me, and its a bit slow paced.. I wish there was more chapters with Snow and Bran..I will wait a while before reading the #3, Steven Bursts - Book of Jhereg is probably my next read...
I just started The Lies of Locke Lamora, and it's great fun. It sort of reads like a Guy Ritchie movie run through a fantasizer. That should be a compliment! If it doesn't sound like one, twist it around until it is. I've been grinning the whole way through so far.
I'm a book addict, so I will admit to reading a bunch of different books right now:Demon Girl by Penelope Fletcher
The Weight of Blood by David Dalglish
The Strange Case of Finley Jayne by Kady Cross
Mediator: Shadowland by Meg Cabot
I think that's it, but I may have left one or two out. And now, in June, I get to read Leviathan. hahaha :)
Should be starting The Weight of Blood on the train tonight into work. It looks to be my commute book for the next week.
I finished Regenesis at 4AM Saturday and started The Silent Tower which seemed a bit dated at first, but now is turning into a quite delightful tale - unconventional heroine, mad wizard and all. I'll have to add Antryg Windrose to my list of favorite quirky heroes. I finished The Curse of Chalion, thank god. I didn't much like it. It was partly the narrator, who made everything seem tongue in cheek, but as the story rolled on I could see why. Maybe it was a parody on fantasy? At any rate, the hero was just impossibly good and pure, the setting fairy tale like - I am tired of these medieval fantasy settings - and there was no real suspense, as you just know there's going to be a happy ending. I much prefer Bujold's scifi! So after that, I need a dose of reality and am starting A Prayer for Owen Meany - a John Irving novel that I never got around to reading.
Also started The Master of Whitestorm but can't really concentrate on it until I finish the Hambly.
The Star Wars kick continues -- I finished Fatal Alliance and started Deceived (Star Wars: The Old Republic, #2).
Just finished The Name of the Wind and The Book of Taltos as well as a great new Manga from Canada's west coast - Red: A Haida MangaOh, and read Memories of Ice awhile back, fabulous book!
Veronika Decides to Die was a good, but difficult book. And a beautiful but short read was The Music of Dolphins
Hi guys! I was hoping for some advice. I don't know what book to read!! I'm torn between Sojourn, The Name of the Wind, and The Hunger Games. Thoughts please :)
Just finished The Master of Whitestorm and am all teary eyed and choked up. What a finish! For a dose of reality following a dizzyingly fantasy read of The Curse of Chalion, which I didn't much like, I'm listening to A Prayer for Owen Meany which is chock full of Irving's acute and forgiving perception of human nature.
I'm a little stuck with Leviathan which I'm not liking much. Starting Daughter of the Empire for our sister group's continuation of the Feist Magician series, and will also be reading In the Garden of Iden for another group read. Continuing the Chanur series as well. I think there's some other stuff coming up but I'm a little overwhelmed right now. And I think it's time to set up a June 'what are you reading' thread!

I'm currently working on Bitch: In Praise of Difficult Women by Elizabeth Wurtzel which I'm finding quite fascinating. Also finally getting to Brandon Sanderson's Elantris which I've been meaning to read for ages now.
The class I'm teaching is reading Criminological Theory and thus I am re-reading it as well if that counts ;)
Cheers, y'all! I miss having the time to spend hanging out and reading with everyone!! :'(
<3 my book people :)
