Sarah | 13814 comments Also my sister and one of her friends have both had the experience of Pyrex exploding after coming out of the oven. Separate times.
My sister wasn't hurt, but her friend needed tendons reattached and stuff. She's an acupuncturist and at the time was pregnant with her third child, so I think it was a whole lot of no fun.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments why did they mess with a successful formula and what are crack cookers covered by workmans comp if they get hurt by exploding pyrex?

This is extremely disturbing. I remember hearing about exploding Pyrex on the news maybe 1-2 years ago but I didn't pay much attention. I wonder if I own any exploding Pyrex. And I hope the injured people are suing.

Helena | 1056 comments I had an exploding Pyrex dish- luckily it exploded in my oven. I thought I was the only one!

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments were any of you all making crack?

message 8: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments It sounds like they were making shards, glad everyone id OK from the experience.

message 9: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I think the thing both of them did was put hot pyrex on a surface with a very different temperature. In my sister's case, I think she brushed the oven door with it after the oven had been on. In her friend's case, she put it in the sink or on a cold counter or something.

Sarah gets me.

And I still haven't forgiven myself for losing my grandmother's yellow Pyrex mixing bowl in a move 15 years ago.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I wanna hug those badgers. I'm seriously in a cute animal mood today. Somebody post more pictures of cute animals, pleeease?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Love the badger faces!

Jammies, my mom still has her yellow Pyrex mixing bowl. It's the last one left of the set. I loved those.

message 18: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Bun, I don't know if they're royalty free or not, I just grabbed 'em from Photobucket because they were available. I am always up for badgering a witness.

Jax, I miss my gramma's. :( It was the last of her set too.

Rebecca White (rebecca_white) | 1027 comments Jeez, this is disappointing. I can't remember the last time I bought pyrex, but I certainly have counted on it. Awhile back I got several old pieces at thrift stores. I like the pretty colors. I'm going to keep looking for those.
