Jamie Jamie - I must admit, I finally gave in and decided I HAD to read the book after hearing Bella's Lullaby (actually "River Flows in You" by Yiruma) on someone's playlist one day. :) I can't believe how much that song influenced me! Have you heard it? It's simply breathtaking.

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 636 comments I actually haven't heard it..i shall try to listen to it right now!

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 636 comments oh my gosh! i just found it on Rhapsody..it's amazing! that is for sure going on repeat right now as i'm trying to do homework. its dreamlike.

message 4808: by Jamie (new)

Jamie I know! I completely fell in love with it and, I swear, I could listen to it all day. It still brings tears to my eyes, especially now that I've read the book.

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 636 comments i can't wait to see the movie..isn't really my thing for a movie either..but i can't resist!

message 4810: by Jamie (new)

Jamie I agree with you about the movie also. Since my DH has the 21st off, I already know where we'll be that night!

message 4811: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia (pandoraphoebesmom) | 1826 comments Testimony...each chapter is told through different peoples voices (some tell more than one chapter)...it's about a sex scandal at this boarding school in Vermont and what led up to it and the aftermath and the fallout. Like I said it was very different from her other stuff but good in it's own way...my favorite of her's that I've read so far is Fortune's Rocks.

message 4812: by Jenna (new)

Jenna (backwoodsbabble) | 52 comments still reading Shantaram.. its really mean how my professors keep giving me homework and other things to read for assignments. It's really cutting into my reading time.. So far, its fabulous.. I'm only a couple hundred pages in..

I am also reading for an assignment, Two years before the mast, which is actually quite good.

message 4813: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Jamie thanks for sharing that song. It's so beautiful! I picked up Twilight this weekend after seeing the movie previews. I can't wait to read it now.

message 4815: by Krista (new)

Krista (findyourshimmy) | 382 comments Bella's Lullaby - for anyone interested in knowing, the movie soundtrack comes out this Tuesday (as in the day after tomorrow) and I'm guessing this track will be on it.

message 4816: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments the soundtrack comes out already??

Does anyone know about the SECRET LIFE OF BEES soundtrack?? I want it.

message 4817: by Jamie (last edited Nov 02, 2008 06:21PM) (new)

Jamie Unfortunately, the song I mentioned won't be on the soundtrack. I'm not sure what the whole story is on that, but River Flows in You has been replaced by another song by Carter Burwell (one that doesn't seem to fit, actually).

Jackie - I hope you enjoy Twilight (I'd bet that you will)!

message 4818: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments whaaaaaaaat?
that song won't be on it?

message 4819: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments For now I am completely not interested in the Twillight serie, but knowing me in a couple of years it could be that I start reading them and like them.

Reading Book of the Dead.
I know many people say that they like her books less than the previous ones because they are different. It made me postpone reading the new ones she is writing because I don't want to start not liking her books anymore. For now, I agree that they are different. I read an article about her, kind of interview and she also explained that she is changing and it will influence her writing too. Which is normal I think and it seems to have happened. But I still love it!!! I am really enjoying the book.

Sera Yesterday, I finished Not Me by Michael Lavigne, which was very good. I intend to start the second novel in the Richard III The Crown of York trilogy by Sandra Worth this week. Plus, I continue to read through my non-fiction selections. Life is good!

message 4825: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments :-) sera, isn't it nice when reading makes you think like that!

message 4826: by Donna (new)

Donna I got about 100 pages into this book and had to abandon it. It was recommended as part of a book club and I just couldn't do it. I gave it to my daughter thinking she might get into it. No can do. Weird book. It's still on my shelf and who knows maybe one day when I have absolutely nothing else to read I will pick it up again. Doubtful though.

Carrie (missfryer) | 453 comments Finished AGATB!! SO good!!!!!!

Laura (apenandzen) Jamie - I loved that song. You have great, eclectic taste in music! I was surprised I could play those songs on your list without a subscription or anything. What's up with that?? I like it, but I'd think the record co's. would be freakin' out.

message 4831: by Marsha (new)

Marsha I finished Flowers for Algernon last night.

That was one of the rare 5-star books. I owe it to the Fall Challenge that I read it as a "frequently banned book."

Definitely something everyone should read.

message 4832: by Lisa Julianna (new)

Lisa Julianna (lisajulianna) | 1053 comments I'm not that far into the book but I'm a bit disturbed by him giving himselves bruises. Is anyone else finding that odd?

message 4833: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (angelashly) | 160 comments I am starting Tell Me Lies by Jennifer Crusie for the Chick Lit Book Club on here.

message 4834: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Laura - Thanks! Yeah, playlist.com is different than many other music sites. You can only put songs on your list that are found on other websites. So, it is essentially just a list of links to where you'd normally be able to play specific songs on a site - oftentimes, you can find them on an artist's official site. I really like it - I've got it on my Facebook page, too.

message 4835: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Oh cool, thanks for the info, Jamie!
