Thanks for the nice comments!
It's funny you used bookrags for Moby Dick. Wish I thought of that when I read Moby Dick cause I couldn't finish the darn thing.
I can actually say, I probably will not forget A Tale of Two Cities because the story is really good.
Very interesting!
Just finished "Death by Darjeeling" I liked it. Short and sweet mystery. Recommend it.
Going to start "The Cider House..."

Has anyone read "Edgar Sawtelle?" I think that's the title. Is it a good read?
Thanks for the feedback.
Kim

I'm curious to read the posts because I want to know what people thought of the ending.
Linda - that was a great part, too. People don't have to give up on their passion just because the big leagues doesn't work out for them.

Allison, I'm actually liking it a bit more these last couple days than I was on Monday or maybe it was Tuesday. Some parts it is really slow, then others it picks up. And currently, it's picked up a bit. Just a little over 150 pages left! I'm impressed with how quickly I am making it through this book!
Logan, thanks! I will definitely stop by as I'm sure I will have comments to make! Maybe we will completely revive that discussion.
Melanie, I sure will. I actually saved this book from going into the dumpster at work, when we were cleaning out our office. There is a guy I work with who reads books about as quickly as I do and he saved them all, then wanted to just toss them! GASP!!
About 175 pgs into Book Thief. So far so good.

I began tearing into that dreaded pile of TBR's and am really enjoying Songs of the Humpback Whale. It's Jodi Picoult's first novel. It took a bit to get used to the jumping back and forth among the various narrative voices, but I'm really enjoying it right now. There's an apple orchard involved, so now seems like a perfect time to read it. The cover just screams "fall."
Plus, I'm really wanting to get around to the September reads. Yikes!!!!! Help!!!! hahaha

It's a Sept. pick for a club I'm in.
I picked it up at a library book sale... 50cents

I just finished To Kill a Mockingbird. :) Yay! It was so good. I have heard so many great things about it during the years, and never read it. (How it was never a required reading while I was in school, I will never know). Anyways, I loved it. :)
Now I'm going to start on The Cider House Rules.

I'm looking forward to reading it soon!
My daughter will need to read it this Spring.
I cant wait to see what else they will be reading this year. I know Romeo and Juliet is on their list too.

JT.. step away from the other books. Back up slowly. Put out your hands where I can see them. Palms up, out in front!
Now take Blindness, nice and easy....easy does it. I said TAKE IT! Dont you dare think about dropping it. I mean it buster!
~~~Ahhh.. the peace has been restored! Everyone can stop panicking now. Phew. That was a close one!
I have read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan.
Read it last year.
I LOVED it!
It's a great story of 2 Chinese girls who are paired as "laotongs" and communicate through "nu shu" a unique language that Chinese women created to communicate in secret.
There is a lot of great information about Chinese culture weaved throughout the story. Like foot binding. I remember googling on foot binding to see if I could find pictures of it.
There are some out there and it's not a pretty sight.
I think you will enjoy this book!
Highly recommend.
JT, I'm with Lori... READ BLINDNESS!!! DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200.00...Wait...We're not talking about monopoly, are we?
Oh well...I am still reading SHANTARAM and loving it. I just finished THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT, and it was great. I am also going to start THE CIDER HOUSE RULES, cause that's a Sept. read, and part of my fall comp. and I am very competitive.
Ann...I loved The Curious Incident!!
JT...you better read Blindness!! I've been trying to find it..used...and can't.
I just started The Monster of Florence by Douglas Preston.
Will have to check out The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night. Thanks for the recommendation.
Okay, so I was going to put Blindness down, but the stubborn side of me (never give up) has kept with it and am glad I have.
Also, last night I read the latest volume of The Walking Dead. I know that all zombie tales are bleak, but DAMN this one got really dark really quickly. Either they're getting ready to end the series or change it significantly because everything just fell apart so quickly. It gave me some crazy zombie dreams too.
Thanks Boof and JT. I'll put it on my TBR list. I love books with a lot of heart in them and this seems right up my alley.
