The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. Love it. It's my second book of this writer. First wasThe Prague Cemetery.

Hope you continue to enjoy them.

I'm in the midst of Mr. Penumbra's as well; am enjoying it - an interesting juxtaposition of the old (paper books, reading, old book stores) and new (Google, computer searches). A modern day quest of sorts, and a nice light read.
I've just finished
by Nicholas Evans and
by Janet Evanovich. The Divide started off so well but the plot did get quite slow halfway through the book. I did wish it would speed up at times but the story did remain strangely engaging. The last 60 or 70 pages of the novel were just as gripping and compelling as the first half of the novel. To tell the truth, I enjoyed the family drama sub-plot a lot more than I liked the murder mystery plot but I think that was probably because I didn't like the character of Abbie all that much so I found it hard to care about what happened to her. I loved all the vivid and wonderful descriptions of the Montana setting and landscape that made me feel like I was actually there. Nicholas Evans has got a great writing style and I love his use of language and imagery. I gave this novel 3½ stars!

I love all the regular Stephanie Plum novels but I'm not sure I like these between the numbers novellas. I was very disappointed by Plum Lovin'. Nothing much happened in it and it was extremely dull and boring. It wasn't anywhere near as funny as the regular novels do be and I really hate the supernatural element in the novella. I gave it 1½ stars!

Now I'm a few chapters into
by Jennifer Donnelly.
Finished The Snowman by Nesbo -very good ,gritty and gross with a lot of red herrings to keep you guessing.Started Safe Haaven by Sparks for an entirely new change of scenery !

Hi everyone on TNBBC... I recently finished
and I quite, simply loved it.Started reading,
and also reading
as a side-read.
I read
, Asha, about a year ago and thought it was very interesting, though some of it reminded me of a made for tv Lifetime movie. lol. Paula,
was an awesome book. I can't wait for the sequel. Well, even though it's been going much slower than normal for me reading-wise I'm finally at the halfway mark with
's
. I read the first book,
, awhile ago and forgot all about reading the sequels til a few months ago. Then I thought; well, since all three are now out I might as well get them all read. I am hoping the second half of "Kiss of Life" is better than the first half and that the third book; "Passing Strange" is better than the second altogether. lol. Happy Reading! ^_^

and cannot seem to put it down at all. Guess, its going to end up being one of my favorites given the thrill continues. :) Happy reading with Kiss of Life.
I finished Night Shift. I really enjoyed some of the stories. "One for the Road" really made me want to reread 'Salem's Lot.I think that I'm going to read The Dragon Factory next.
Julie wrote: "Memoirs of a Geisha."Read it, I think, last year. Really enjoyed it. Sparked my interest enough so I went and bought Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and several books by Gail Tsukiyama.
Right now I'm reading A Storm of Swords.
Browsing at a B&N, I came across an autographed, remaindered copy of A Widow's Story, a memoir by Joyce Carol Oates, a writer I knew about 40 years ago when she and her husband Raymond Smith were living in Detroit. She makes frequent references to those days in this book, and so far I'm finding it impressive and touching.
I read The Town That Forgot How to Breathe: A Novel a few years back. It was odd, but I thought it was pretty good. I just finished Lancaster House, by Taylor Dean and am getting ready to start ... something lol. So many books, so little time. Either 1984 or Number the Stars.
I'm reading thorn birds and after that I will start princes of Ireland. I love series. Just finished the passing bells trilogy and enjoyed the first two immensely.

This sure sounds promising. Let us know how it proceeds.
I finished Snow Falling on Cedars which I ended up enjoying. I thought the novel was well written and ultimately I wanted to find out what happens in the end. My only complaints would be that at times it got a little too wordy and it wasn't one of those reads that I just couldn't put down.Next I'll read The Glass Lake.
I am now reading The Great Escape. I just started it. It looks interesting since it is valentine's Day.
Behind the Beautiful Forevers, which is my book club's pick this month. Compelling nonfiction that haunts you like a novel.

I have read every book by Gail Tsukiyama except A Hundred Flowers. I liked them all except Dreaming Water and Night of Many Dreams: A Novel Look forward to hearing what you think of this author.
Shary Fowler wrote: "Just finished Before I Go To Sleep. Great read. Next up is Shiver. What did you think of "Before I Go to Sleep" Shary? I loved it when I read it. :)
I'm reading Les Misérables in French, but sometimes that's a bit taxing when you're on the train to work, feeling sleepy and, frankly, a little hungover. So I'm alternating with Blonde Bombshell.
Basically, a book for beginners or those with mild interest in the subject. Light-toned and fun to experiment with, but not something I'd recommend to those with a serious attitude towards this branch of fortune-telling.

Hi Paula - I loved the book. I was hooked from the beginning - had a hard time putting it down. I was completely surprised by the ending.
