Just started reading Pebble Cove By Mairead O'Driscoll

So I had about 7 books going and wasn't making significant progress anywhere. Finished two, most of the way through most of the others, zeroed in last couple days on two of them: Bad Luck And Trouble on audio and The Tin Roof Blowdown. Enjoying both but The Tin Roof Blowdown-- well, first of all it's set right after Katrina which is horrific. Second, I recently read a book several books farther in in this series, one in which the main character never once mentioned his daughter- who has always been a main focus. So for him to NEVER mention her makes me think something awful happened. Now I'm reading one of the in-between books I missed- The Tin Roof Blowdown-- and reading every page with my heart in my throat, because the daughter is a character in this one and a psychopath has met her.....

Yesterday I finished One Day by David Nicholls. I liked it. :)

Now I've started Before I Go to Sleep by SJ Watson. I read half of it yesterday, it's a really quick, absorbing read so far.

Today, I've started reading Songs Of The Humpback Whale by Jodi Picoult.

I just started Invisbile by Lorean McCourtney. She has written several crime books. Her writing is different. The characters are funny and Ivy Malon, the main character in this book, has a curiosity that sometimes gets her into trouble. I've only read about 50 pages, just picked it up this morning, and find it funny very humorous.

Yeah, I wasn't super crazy about Dexter either, which I think was a big reason I didn't like the book as much as I could have. I liked Emma, but didn't connect with anyone tons. Let me know what you think as you get further in. :)

The Tin Roof Blowdown . Just finished this and I feel like I just drew breath for the first time in days. The tension was subtle but pervasive!

Went on an addictive reading binge this weekend and Finished The Stand by Steven King which was absolutely fantastic (I like my vampires scary verus sappy and romantic) and The Peach Keeper which was a fluufy mystical realism novel but well written.

I finished Only Time Will Tell, the first of a new trilogy, and A Letter of Mary, which was the third in the wonderful Mary Russell series. Both were good reads. I started The Moor last night.

I finshed Home Front By Kristin Hannah and have to say it is my favorite of all of Ms. Hannah's book. There are just to many wonderful adjectives thst best describe her book. The story about our men and women of the arm forces was intriguing and well written.

We need more books that cover this topic and give priase to those who leave their families, home and friends to protect US and our country.

To Kristin Hannah I take my hat off and give her a very big Thank You and praise for the book. I have read most of her books, however this nis my favorite.

I just finished reading Room and thought it was fantastic. The narrative voice she chose made it so much sadder than if it had been written third person or as an adult or something. Very heartbreaking to think of how Jack must have been warped from the first five years of his life.

Now I'm probably going to read The Art of Racing in the Rain, which I am really looking forward to. I've also slowly been working my way through The Wake of Forgiveness, but it's not as gripping as what I usually read. Most likely going to start a Harry Potter reread soon... Mildly obsessed with that series.

I just started The Ballad of Tom Dooley, will see how it goes. If I like it will probable read other books by the author Sharyn McCrumb, this is my first by her.

I just finished the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which was wonderful and sad that it's the last book. I've started Angela's Ashes which has grabbed me from page one and am a ways into Margaret's Ark which is a bit different but interesting.

The Moor was really good, the Mary Russell series is reliable fun. Now I'm reading As Time Goes By, which continues the story of the movie Casablanca.

Currently reading The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag and enjoying just as much as I did the first installment. This is a series that I will hopefully follow until the end (provided it doesn't take a dastardly turn and become dreadful). I have heard mixed reviews about Flavia de Luce, but am glad that a free copy presented itself to me or I probably wouldn't have read it. So glad I did!

Just finished Moby-Dick byHerman Melville - It' was really hard reading - it is brilliant documentary, but so hard to go throw if treat it as fiction work.... But I glad I did it.

Well, I just finished reading Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler's "The Future of Us" and since I recently read one of Mackler's other books "The Earth, My Butt And Other Round Things" (or similar to that title), I figured why not do the same for Jay Asher and so now I am halfway through "Thirteen Reasons Why" which, being the sister of a young man who took his own life, is a very difficult read for me but other than that, it's not a bad "pretty (insert race here) kids with problems" read.

What I am absolutely looking forward to is the release date for the sequel to Lauren Oliver's "Delirium", "Pandemonium" which is out tomorrow!! Can't wait!!

It's rare for me not to finish a book. I had started American Gods. It was our March read and could not get into the book. So, I'm starting Island of Blue Dolphin by Scott Odell.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. Thirteen Reasons Why must be very hard for you. I read it this summer and could not put it down, but I still can't decide if that was a good thing or not. It reminded me of a multi-car wreck, you can't look away but you really don't want to see. I am still haunted by that book. I hope that it doesn't open old wounds for you.
