Brenda Klaassen (librarymom23) I finished "Shanghai Girls" last night. I think I will start a YA or older children's book today!

message 26353: by Linda (new)

Linda | 887 comments Just finished Chasing Fireflies by Charles Martin . Gave it a 5. When you can't seem to stop reading and all the things you need to accomplish seem not nearly as important as sitting and reading "that book," then it certainly deserves a high rating. This did that for me. Loved it.

Hunger Games, in my opinion, is a very good read. I agree that sometimes the book is barely out and they make a movie of it. In this case though I am really thrilled that they are doing a movie. I wonder how they will capture some of the moments though because the words are, in my humble opinion, what makes this book so great. The depth that a book can give that a movie simply can not.

Yuliya (yuliyalovestoread) | 1685 comments Books are always better then movies, because they can't how you say, can't capture some of the moments though because the words in the books are. But I think it possible to do great movie based on this book. The book thief is also great book. It's hard to read sometimes, but later it haunting you for a long time and you keep coming back in your thoughts to this book again and again

Renee (pontiacgal501) | 70 comments Just finished Bang by William Butler. This was a free download from Amazon and I was suprised. It was a good who done it with a lot of characters that had a reason to do it. Warning: This is a very adult book.

Will be reading Manhattan is My Beat by Jeffrey Deaver. This is book 1 of his earlier series. I think there were only 3 books in this series.

About half way through The Night Circus, too, and don't think I'll be able to stop until the last page. A very good read.

Enjoy GWTW, Patricia! If you like the movie, you'll probably appreciate the details the book adds to the story. I've read it nine times and it never gets old.

I just finished Search the Dark. It was great- I couldn't guess the murderer and that's the sign of a good mystery.

I would love to read GWTW sometime. I tried to read it 2 times when I was in junior high, but I had the attention span of a gnat back then and only read it about halfway through. Maybe I'll give it another try someday.! Let us know how you like it, Patricia!

I am loving it. The imagery is amazing. In my Mind's eye, I could see the striped tents against the grey skies as I waited in line with the others waiting to find out what kind of Circus only opens at night. The characters also sucked me in, especially Mr. Gray. I'm about 70% done and can't wait to finish it tomorrow - I left it at the Dentist Office, dag nabit!

message 26398: by April (new)

April (apriltara) | 11 comments I really enjoyed it. It's like the circus itself is the main character.

Very true, though I was commenting on the supporting cast as it were. I'm a little groggy from the meds the dentist gave me...
