Scott | 257 comments I finished The Godwulf Manuscript. It was enjoyable. I also realized that these books were what the TV series Spenser for Hire was based on. I will definitely read more of them.

Now I'm going to start Hammerhead Ranch Motel since it became available from the library yesterday.

Alex Kudera | 49 comments I just finished American Scream, about Allen Ginsberg and the making and marketing and more of "Howl," and I'm about to begin teaching Thomas Pynchon's The Crying of Lot 49 (again). And I'm also rereading An Adultery by Alexander Theroux and reading for the first time Francis Wheen's biography of Karl Marx. The latter is a great fast-paced biography, and you don't have to know too much about his actual philosophies to enjoy it.

Have you read all 6 books in this series? Because I am in the middle of "The shelters of stone" (#5) and I am not enjoying it much at all! I hear the 6th one is even worse. So I was wondering if you had any thoughts about this and if you could advise me whether reading the 6th one is even worth my time? Thanks!
