It is amazing to me how many books he wrote that I'd never even heard of. I finished The Power and the Glory, though I recall liking The End of the Affair better - hopefully it won't take me 5 years to get back to Greene again!
For now, I am on to You Know When the Men Are Gone. So far, I am really impressed with this new author. I hadn't expected to like it as much as I have (I've heard only good things, but the subject matter didn't really grab me) - the writing is great and the stories pack a real emotional punch.
Finished Angel Flight by Connelly which I enjoyed. I do like the Harry Bosch character and feel he is realistic blend of the good guy and the flawed character.
I finished The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga which I thought was really good. Now I'm going to start Say You're One of Them by Uwem Akpan.
i finished All He Ever Wanted from Anita Shreve. i wanted to like it more than I did, it disappointed me at the end.i started The Other Family by Joanna Trollope today, it's pretty good so far.
I've been out sick so I've been knocking out a few of my YA reads lying around my house. Poison Study, House of Many Ways, Fallen, and now I think either Fairest or Charlie Bone and the Hidden King. I'm not sure if I want boyish adventure or another love story. I've enjoyed all of them so far so I'm hoping to keep up the good reads streak :) .
Ooh, Alayna, I'm going to have to pick Fated up now. I loved Breathers, so I'm curious what else he's written!Susan, I've been meaning to read Moloka'i for years, I'm glad to hear you're liking it! I'll have to go dig out my copy...
I just finished Ya Yas in Bloom and found it to be a very fun, enjoyable read. For those who are looking for something light, this might be it.

so far i cant put it down. how was breathers?
Finished Worlds of Exile and Illusion: Three Complete Novels of the Hainish Series in One Volume--Rocannon's World; Planet of Exile; City of Illusions and ended up really liking this one. The last story, City of Illusions, made it all worthwhile.I'm almst half way thru Kraken and not thrilled with it. Just hoping that maybe it will improve soon.
Just starting The Oracle of Stamboul and so far I really like it.
I just finished The Killing Tree: A Novel by Rachel Keener. It was really good- I'd recommend it. Now I'm going to start The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.

Fated and Breathers are both awesome. I think I may have like Fated a little more.

Please let me know how The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest is. I just recently finished The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and loved it. I'm eager to start the second and third, but needed to take a breather and read something short.
Anyways, I'm currently reading One for the Money by Janet Evanovich. I was desperately in need for a new series, and grabbed this. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.
I'm working through two nonfictions:Earthly Remains and Bioarchaeology and Identity in the Americas
In fiction, I'm reading:
Maelstrom (First Reads win!) and Horizon Storms
Yep. I'm one of those people who likes to read multiple books at the same time. :o)
I'm reading The Girl Who Played with Fire - Stieg Larsson and am enjoying it just as much as the first.
Am almost through absolutely, positively by Webber. It's a super light chick-lit novel about a pyschic who runs a dating service.
I read The Great Gatsby in HS, then later as an adult in a book club. I saw it in a very different light at a more mature age.
I am just finishing up Pillars of the Earth. I am absolutely loving it! I keep having to put it aside for other book club reading I need to get done. Who would have thought such a great book would come from the story of building a cathedral?
Finished The Postmistress. I thought it was a gripping tale, with engaging characters.I liked the strong but diverse woman characters who created lives outside of role boundaries of 1940 America and Europe. The theme of truth and discretion were as relevant then as they are today.

I've put Kraken on hold for the moment. Maybe I'll get back to it and maybe I won't. Just getting started on Clockwork Angel and so far I like it better than the Mortal Instruments series.
UndoneI put this on hold for a bit while I read broken. It`s good as it explains Sarah Lintons life post Jeffrey.
I'm reading "The Mistletoe Murder" Leslie Meier. It's the first in her series but I've read "Trick or Treat Murders" which I liked and got me to go back and start from the beginning. : )
Finished reading The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender. Good writing, but strange book. Am now halfway through Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost.

from your list, I loved The Girls. It is such an exquisite and unusual book. I highly recommend it.
Yes, I like her music very much, and the book just gives you an insight into how she achieved her dream and what life is like on the road. She lets you know about what she has learned on her journey and some peculier and difficult experiences she has been through. It can be a little bit funny sometimes too.

Let me know what you think of One For The Money. I picked that one up a few years ago, and never really got into it and didn't finish it. I've heard lots of good things though, so I wonder if it's worth another go.
I just finished reading The Color Purple. It's a gripping story and it had my attention right from the start. Now onto something lighter, young adult fantasy - Inkheart

i started Lark and Termite today, and i'm not sure what to think. i didn't get far, but it hasn't grabbed me, and i'm wondering if it's worth reading. i've never read anything of the author's so i'm not sure what to make of the way things are unfolding. anyone have any thoughts on this book one way or the other?
I finished with Earthly Remains and have started a new nonfiction-- Victimology by Doerner and Lab. The text is a bit heady, but it's easy to understand and I'm really enjoying it. :o)
I've finished Wuthering Heights
Everything about this book makes it makes it truly brilliant. 5 starsMidnight Sun
I loved the story from Edwards point of view. 5 StarsHush, Hush
The storyline certainly keeps you interested, but i personally found it hard to read. 3 starsMy Big Fat Supernatural Wedding
There is not enough here that stands out, Maybe it's a case of trying to cram too many authors in to one book. 3 starsA Great and Terrible Beauty
The writing was gorgeously elaborate great, but sometimes so elaborate I didn't actually know what was going on. 3 starsand I have started Glimmerglass
Bloody Tower: The Diary of Tilly Middleton, London 1553-1559
and Slave to Sensation
