What are you reading?
I started to read The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson. Just finished the Prologue - and I am starting the book mad, madder and maddest ...
Just finished 13 Hour by Richard Doetsch and gave it a 5. What a roller coaster ride and the ending did not disappoint. I hate when that happens in other books that just fall flat at the end. This one is sooooooooo good from start to finish.
I finished Dead Until Dark. It was soooo good that I stayed up until 1:00 am to finish reading it. I am currently reading The Hound of the Baskervilles. After this it will be A Virtuous Woman or 1st To Die.
I just finished Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and I absolutely loved it. It has been a few books since I got my teeth into some really good lit fic. I am now going to read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan before picking up 100 Years of Solitude for the group read.
I'm 1/3 of the way through Flowers for Algernon and I've already cried a few times. I think I'm in for an emotional roller coaster with this book.
I finished Anna Karenina, I loved it but I thought it would never end. Working on Shutter Island I've heard it was really good.

That was an awesome book. It is in my totebag to take to the beach tomorrow for a re-read!

I never read Judy Blume and everyone insists so this is the first one I was recommended!

I thought it was a really good "first love" story.
I just finished Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal. It served well for a good laugh after reading some darker books.I just started South of Broad. I kinda have cabin fever, as I haven't been anywhere fun since Christmas. So I thought it would be nice to read a book that really ties into a location. I've been to Charleston twice, so I'm familiar with the layout and landmarks. Reading this is kind of like taking a much needed trip, even if it's only in my mind.
I just finished In the Woods and liked it, although I had hoped for a different ending. Now have to figure out what to read next.
I have read the first chapter of Quantum Breach and was very impressed with it.It is pumped up and full of adrenaline and
starts with a high pace that never lets up for
a second. Slight quibble in one place the grammar
lets the author down a little. But as I have enjoyed
what I have read so far I am willing to let that pass.
Just finished a book by Laurie NotaroNow I am going to jump right into Lost in a Good Book by Jasper Fforde. :) Once I finish that I will probably read One Hundred Years of Solitude!

Let us know what you think of Lost in a Good Book. I was a bit put off by the Eyre Affair, but if the sequel is better, I may give it a shot.
I'm reading a Ya I picked up working at an elementary school this week. "Running Out of Time" Haddix. It sounds like a book the movie "The Village" by Shymalan was based on. It's not bad so far.

Monef- I will let you know what I think-- I enjoyed the Erye Affair- and have heard from several people that the series gets better with each book.
this month I read: I Am Legend, Peter Pan, Princess Bride, Wizard of Oz, Agnes Grey, Awakening and today I started Madame Bovary :)

Started
yesterday on my Kindle (so have no real sense of what page I am on) and cannot put the thing down. Ingredients: Charleston, SC (1910); murder of a Jew; NY journalist seeking the truth; black man accused. Mix it all together and what a great story (and it's true).
I'm getting ready to start The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. From what it sounds like, its a little slow but I better read this one so I can get to the second one, which is much better, so I've heard.

Personally, I loved the Eyre Affair. I have read the whole series and they are all really great except for the last one, which was just sort of meh. Though if you didnt like the first one, I dont see you liking the rest.
I am 8 pages into the bookThe Tender Bar : A Memoir by J.R. Moehringer. This book was left at my local coffee shop. Has anyone read it? It has won some awards so that is why I thought I would give it a try.
Brenda, I read The Tender Bar: A Memoir a couple of years ago and I liked it very much. It takes place in my hometown and I know several of the characters (though not the author or his family) and all of the landmarks, so I am sure that influenced my opinion. That said, I have several friends who read it without my frame of reference and really liked it as well.

I'm currently reading Dune & audiobooking Cleopatra's Daughter. Both very good so far.
Finished After Elizabeth: The Rise of James of Scotland and the Struggle for the Throne of England, by Leandra De Lisle, last night. Interesting read.

I've heard the rest of the series are very lack luster. Kinda makes me sad.
I am reading Desires of a Perfect Lady. Lovely romance. I am still finding myself unable to let go of what I finished before this The Girl Who Played with Fire. I have already called the bookstore to have them put a copy of the third book The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest on reserve for me.
I am reading The Elegance of the Hedgehog and then The 19th Wife. Elegance is different than I thought it was going to be, haven't decided whether I like it or not...

Bridgit, the first one is definitely the best. Then they go downhill from there. I still really enjoyed the second and third books, but the fourth and fifth were only ok. I'm about to read the sixth and have done with it.
