What are you reading?

I'm giving it a bit longer because the story seems intriguing. Thanks, Lori!

Have you reached the episode in the Newspaper Office yet, Carol? Very effective way of writing but.....shoot me......so little happens. I'm finally done and have moved past that into the next episode.

Isn't it great? I'm about halfway through and it just keeps getting better. Highly recommended.

oooh I picked that up in a charity shop the other day when I was at my parents' - thought it looked really interesting. Let me know what you think :)

Allison I adored Marley and me!!!!

I used to read parts of a book by Pieter Aspe in our tv guide in Belgium but never seem to like it.

Oeps, I jsut realized that I think I bought Pride and prejudice yesterday, which I had already read, thinking i was buying Sense and Sensibility. I hope I bought the latter.

Sandman is very quickly turning into a favourite of mine. Start reading them anyway, they've been written so you can pick up any one of the volumes and not be lost. Especially the short story ones, like Fables and Reflections, that I just finished, or The Sandman Vol. 03 Dream Country.

I loved The Mists of Avalon - it's been a long time since I read it but you've just reminded me of it and I might have to dig it out again.

Thanks, Jayme! That's good information. I'll see about getting Vol. 2 from the Library.
I just got done with cassie edwars book now i am reading carrie by stephen king

I figured out the twist early on but it still didn't ruin it for me because I had to find out the details! I'm anxious for the movie now.

It wasn't required for us either (back in the stoneage). LOL I read it just a few years ago.

I am not sure what is next - I could finish Holes, The Heretic Queen, Firefly Lane or what ????
Margaret, I am reading that as well... a little over the halfway mark, but it pales in comparision to some of his other books, for me...

My son gave me the first season of True Blood for Christmas. Since Christmas, I've watched the whole season and read the 9 books that are currently out. An addiction, I fear.

Are you enjoying it? I plan to re-reas it later this year.

Yes ... I think I'm addicted to the True Blood series too ... it saddens me! ha ha

Just finished From Dead To Worse (Sookie Stackhouse #8) by Charlaine Harris. Loved the ending on this one. I don't think it had quite the same pull and "big" moments as some of the others but still very enjoyable to read.
Now onto Poppy and Dingan by Ben Rice which will be a quick light read. It's based in country/rural Australia and is about a young girl who's Dad loses her imaginary friends. Even though I'm Australian its a little anoying with some of the jargon though if I wasn't Australian I don't know that I'd know what they were talking about.

I'll be curious to see what you think of this! I liked it, but I thought that Skeleton Crew was better.

Starting the New Year with Fallen by David Maine, and also started Ulysses by James Joyce.

Incredible book.
Looking forward in reading the other two of the Millennium Trilogy. "
I absolutely loved that book. When I was done, I couldn't believe I had let it languish so long on my shelf before reading it. I just started #2, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and it is shaping up to be even more amazing.

If you haven't read Shutter Island or The Given Day, they are both great.

It's been along time since I've read Skeleton Crew but I remember I liked most of the stories.

I read Shutter Island recently then saw the preview for the movie, saw it in a whole new light. I also have Mystic River and Gone, Baby, Gone on my bookshelves. Just
