I read that one when it came out. It's one of the good ones. The Montreal background is especially good in this one.

I loved To Kill A Mockingbird..."
I cant wait for it to get here. I have heard so many good things, and people who love it. I am excited.

Jennifer, is this your first Cather? I've only read A Lost Lady by her, but I really enjoyed it and want to check out her other works. If you've read more by her, I'd love to hear what you enjoyed, but at any rate, I'll be curious to hear your opinion on this one.

Also completed Breathless by Dean Koontz. At this point I am guessing that Koontz is a great read about every other book. This one was kind of ho hum while I thought his last one, Relentless, was really great.

I really enjoyed the mo..."
The Wideacre Trilogy books by Philippa Gregory are good too, although I've only read the first two.

What is this book about, Linda? It sounds intriguing.

I am really liking The White Queen by Philippa Gregory.

Yes, I've heard good things about The White Queen and have that on my to read shelf.

I loved Book Thief. I thought the beginning was bazaar but after that had a hard time putting it down.

The background is Iran in the 70's. I would have to say it's a coming of age story but a sophisticated one. I'm about 2/3's done and so far it's been emotionally moving, humorous and sad. It's also very nicely written.

Now im moving onto The Autobiography Of Santa Claus.

I think that will be the next one that I read!!! That or Beautiful Creatures
I started Betrayed yesterday.

This sounds like a good book. You'll have to tell me how you like it.

I finally caught up with Robin Hobb's Fool trilogy, which I thought fleshed out her first three in that series quite a bit.
For my own enjoyment, I'm taking my time with Treason's Shore by Sherwood Smith, which finishes out her 4 title series that began with Inda.

I absolutely agree with you about the Weight of Silence!

Now, I am starting Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. (from one extreme to the other)Hey, I read anything almost.

I have The Tenth Circle and Keeping Faith both sitting on my shelf.. I have The Undomestic Goddess out though I think I'll start that one first, then read one of those two.

I hope you enjoy this! I read it this summer and loved it, but I've heard that it's very much an "either you hate it or you love it" kind of book.

by Julie Powell and what a fantastic book. I could not put it down. She had me laughing out loud.
I've started Suite Francaise by Irène Némirovsky and so far its pretty good.

Next according to my handy dandy list from the library, I have to read Sand Sharks by Margaret Maron. The latest of the Deborah Knott mysteries. Oh I wish I could just start it tonight and keep reading - but sleep would be a better option.

For me, overall the book was good but I felt the present day part was not nearly as engaging as the historical part.

I loved Heartsick. Gretchen was so evil and for me at least, a female serial killer unusual. Couldn't wait for sequel, but have to say did not enjoy Evil at Heart nearly as much.

I also enjoyed Weight of Silence. Didn't really expect to as I have a hard time finding "light" books that I like. I was emotionally drawn in to this one. Good read!

Same here! The begining was a little awkward and hard to understand, but now t..."
Bought it yesterday!

Janny - I read this a few months ago with my book club. It is AMAZING. Has become easily one of my top 10 favorites that i have ever read. Don't get me wrong, it is a very depressing read, but the writing is beautiful and the story is so perfectly plotted and well-thought out. ENJOY!

Bridgit - thanks! I do look forward to this book, though I wish we didn't always bob for depressing themes, with this reading club.
