What are you reading?
Finished The Priest (eh) and moving on to Outer Dark by McCarthy. I am already 75 pages in. Typical of his other novels, it's sparce and quick paced.

I won Dear Mr. Unabomber by Ray Cavanaugh. I'm going to start it tonight, and will probably finish The Invisible Man tonight as well.
Oh no Elena... I loved that book. I had to thank the group for voting it in as a group read here otherwise I may never have picked it up on my own!

Current reads: The Lace Reader and Driving with Dead People.
I have 3 books in my bathroom, 5 on my nightstand, a..."
What do you think about The Lace Reader?

Just finished Chopper which i liked, a good insight to an interesting slightly disturbed man.
Now i'm onto Soulmates by Miranda Glover.
Was planing on starting Marked by PC Cast but i think once i start that then i will have to continue with the rest of the series and i don't want to do that just yet.

That does sound interesting! I just finished some historical novels about Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth. I may have to add it to my list...

On to Hidden Moon by James Church. I really loved the character of Inspector O in the first book in the series but again the plot was a bit hard to follow. Friends have said Hidden Moon is much better so I am giving it a try.

I loved The Double Bind. How are you liking it so far?

I'm on the library list for both of those, 21st and 44th respectively...don't think I'll be reading them anytime soon. Can't wait to here how everyone else likes GWPWF this month!

Now I'm reading The Violent Bear It Away A Novel by Flannery O'Connor.

I also just finished Dear Mr. Unabomber by Ray Cavanaugh. O-M-Goodness! I could NOT stop laughing my butt off! I would have never picked it up otherwise, and won it here as a first reads, it was AWESOME! Reminding me a lot of Holden Caufield. Very hilarious.
I don't know what to start next...Maybe Rebecca.

So far, I am into it. We'll see what I think by the end of the story. To be perfectly honest, this is the first book written by Chris Bohjalian that I have read. I lived for fifteen years in the same area of Vermont where he resides and also references in his stories, so for some reason up until now, I was not all that interested. I love to get lost in a book, and its not as much fun to "imagine" the scenery when I can actually picture the real towns, streets, buildings, houses, restaurants, etc. that he mentions. The "realness" of his settings takes something away for me. I'll try to be a big girl and get over it :-)

I found it started out slow, but it is worth sticking with. I ended up enjoying the story.

the last few weeks that have taken me away from reading. Hopefully things will calm down. My books are calling to me.!!

So far Under the Volcano is really slow, hoping it picks up soon.

I also loved The Double Bind. Loved the twists.

I loved it when I read it Elena. Maybe it's one that just isn't for you. : )

In the mean time I'm still working on Girl Who Played With Fire!

Loved the first, but felt the pacing was a little off (uneven?) but I really enjoyed it.

I also ripped throughFound, a book my 11-year-old cousin recommended. It was a page-turner! I recommend it if you read YA!
Now I'm getting back to Moonlight in Odessa. I won it here and started it about a month ago, but I wasn't in the mood for it then. I'm going to get it knocked out now though. It starts off well.

I read this book several years ago and liked it so much, I had to read her other books. Enjoy!

How did you like Player Piano, Jessica? That's one I'd like to read someday.

Jen and Kathy, We read DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY for my
Wonderland Book Club a few months ago, and I liked it.
The author's journalistic, statement of the facts, no
emotion style was easy for me to accept and read it all the way to its finale. I have friends who grew up in Chicago and loved reading about how the streets and buildings got their names.

Ooooo, Jen, Devil in the White City is a great book. I loved the details about the fair and the murder mystery thrown into the mix.
