Just finished reading digital fortress. Its very different from typical dan brown books but a good read. Get interesting in the begining but some characters are of conflicting nature. Now starting with Eragon by Christopher Paolini.

Just finished Chopper which i liked, a good insight to an interesting slightly disturbed man.
Now i'm onto Soulmates by Miranda Glover.
Was planing on starting Marked by PC Cast but i think once i start that then i will have to continue with the rest of the series and i don't want to do that just yet.

Started one of my guilty pleasure : Torchwood books. I'm reading Torchwood Pack Animals. Needed my Captain Jack fix.
Reading The Virgin Queen's Daughter by Ella March Chase.... Based on the notion that Queen Elizabeth, before she was queen had a daughter in secret who is the main character of this book Nell de Lacey.... It is a work of fiction and so far interesting!!!
Marti wrote: "Reading The Virgin Queen's Daughter by Ella March Chase.... Based on the notion that Queen Elizabeth, before she was queen had a daughter in secret who is the main character of this book Nell de L..."That does sound interesting! I just finished some historical novels about Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth. I may have to add it to my list...
Finished Murder on the Eiffel Tower by Claude Izner. It was good but the plot was a bit uneven. It's the first in the series and I did like the setting and some of the main characters so I may try the next.On to Hidden Moon by James Church. I really loved the character of Inspector O in the first book in the series but again the plot was a bit hard to follow. Friends have said Hidden Moon is much better so I am giving it a try.
I'm just starting The Girl Who Played with Fire. I loved dragon tattoo so I'm excited to get reading!
I'm reading A Touch of Dead, Charlaine Harris' short story collection of all of her Sookie short stories.
Beth wrote: "Recently finished Shop Class as Soulcraft An Inquiry Into the Value of Work, 3 stars, and Chasing Windmills, 4 stars. Now reading The Double Bind by C..."I loved The Double Bind. How are you liking it so far?
Lori Ann wrote: "I'm just starting The Girl Who Played with Fire. I loved dragon tattoo so I'm excited to get reading!"I'm on the library list for both of those, 21st and 44th respectively...don't think I'll be reading them anytime soon. Can't wait to here how everyone else likes GWPWF this month!
I just finished Life of Pi by Yann Martel. For the first 2/3 the book was sitting at a solid 3 star rating. By the time I finished it, however, it was definitely 4 stars. Now I'm reading The Violent Bear It Away A Novel by Flannery O'Connor.
I just finished The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells. Very typical Wells writing and I liked it.I also just finished Dear Mr. Unabomber by Ray Cavanaugh. O-M-Goodness! I could NOT stop laughing my butt off! I would have never picked it up otherwise, and won it here as a first reads, it was AWESOME! Reminding me a lot of Holden Caufield. Very hilarious.
I don't know what to start next...Maybe Rebecca.
Mary wrote: I loved The Double Bind. How are you liking it so far?So far, I am into it. We'll see what I think by the end of the story. To be perfectly honest, this is the first book written by Chris Bohjalian that I have read. I lived for fifteen years in the same area of Vermont where he resides and also references in his stories, so for some reason up until now, I was not all that interested. I love to get lost in a book, and its not as much fun to "imagine" the scenery when I can actually picture the real towns, streets, buildings, houses, restaurants, etc. that he mentions. The "realness" of his settings takes something away for me. I'll try to be a big girl and get over it :-)
I've just started "The Marriage Trap" Elizabeth Thornton. It's for a challenge I'm doing on a yahoo group.
I am currently reading E.M. Forster's The Longest Journey. The plot is quite interesting, about a young man who is disillusioned and resigns himself to conformity.
Started reading Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn. It is cute so far. Interesting read. I'm also still reading House of Leaves. This is a hard book to read...the footnotes are making me nuts!
Just finished Her Fearful Symmetry and gave it 4 stars. Just started The Whispering Room for another group.
Elena wrote: "I am reading Water for Elephants. The story doesn't grab me...."I found it started out slow, but it is worth sticking with. I ended up enjoying the story.
Finished Heaven Eyes by David Almond this morning! I loved it! Now reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak!
I'm (still still still) reading The Boelyn Inheritance. It should be a fast read and I'm really enjoying it,but have just been busy with other thingsthe last few weeks that have taken me away from reading. Hopefully things will calm down. My books are calling to me.!!
Started Under the Volcano A Novelby Malcolm Lowry today and I'm also reading Marvel 1602 by Neil Gaiman. So far Under the Volcano is really slow, hoping it picks up soon.
Mary wrote: "Beth wrote: "Recently finished Shop Class as Soulcraft An Inquiry Into the Value of Work, 3 stars, and Chasing Windmills, 4 stars. Now reading [book:The Double Bind|..."I also loved The Double Bind. Loved the twists.
Brenda wrote: "Elena wrote: "I am reading Water for Elephants. The story doesn't grab me...."I loved it when I read it Elena. Maybe it's one that just isn't for you. : )
I have a question for anyone who has read Ruiz Zafon's Shadow of the Wind and Angels Game. I put them both on hold at the library and Angel's Game came in but I'm still on hold for Shadow. Is it necessary to read Shadow first? In the mean time I'm still working on Girl Who Played With Fire!
I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and decided to pick up A Mercy by Toni Morrison. Loved the first, but felt the pacing was a little off (uneven?) but I really enjoyed it.
Angel's Game is kind of prequel of sorts to shadow in the wind, but each has its own story. So you can pick any book you want.
I finished My Cousin Rachel. It was just okay. Rebecca was much better.I also ripped throughFound, a book my 11-year-old cousin recommended. It was a page-turner! I recommend it if you read YA!
Now I'm getting back to Moonlight in Odessa. I won it here and started it about a month ago, but I wasn't in the mood for it then. I'm going to get it knocked out now though. It starts off well.
I'm still reading The Wrong Mother but I've gotten bogged down. It's gotten a bit trite, unfortunately---and it started out so strong! I just found out that this is actually the 3rd or 4th in a series about 2 detectives (or UK equivalent),which would explain some of the more mysterious referrences and why there's so many bits about their personal relationships. Meh, I don't really care about that, I wanted a suspense novel, not a love story! But I'll soldier on.
Ana wrote: "I started "The shell seekers", by Rosamunde Pilcher"I read this book several years ago and liked it so much, I had to read her other books. Enjoy!
I finished Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut over the weekend, and I'm now about halfway through The End of the Affair by Graham Greene.
Jessica wrote: "I finished Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut over the weekend, and I'm now about halfway through The End of the Affair by Graham Greene."How did you like Player Piano, Jessica? That's one I'd like to read someday.
Jen wrote: "I am currently reading The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America."Jen and Kathy, We read DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY for my
Wonderland Book Club a few months ago, and I liked it.
The author's journalistic, statement of the facts, no
emotion style was easy for me to accept and read it all the way to its finale. I have friends who grew up in Chicago and loved reading about how the streets and buildings got their names.
Finished The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerritsen and started What the Dead Know by Laura Lippman. Also starting Elizabeth Costello by JM Coetzee.
Marti wrote: "What do you think about The Lace Reader?"I'm not far enough into the book to give a good, solid yay or nay. I'll keep you posted, though!
I finished The Hot Zone A Terrifying True Story, which I listened to on audio. The audio version was full of breathy, over-dramatization and lengthy & dramatic pauses. It made the story seem a bit overblown. I'm sure this was an awful scare for everyone involved but the audio version didn't quite get that across to the listener.
I've now started Fast Food Nation and am continuing with Fifth Business, which I'm really enjoying.
Mary wrote: "I finished Heart-Shaped Box - a good, creepy read. I think I'll read Housewrights next."
I just started reading Heart-Shaped Box so I'm excited to hear that people like it :)
I just finished Cat's Cradle (Kurt Vonnegut), Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Philip K. Dick), and Eaters of the Dead (Michael Crichton) during my downtime during a vacation to Egypt (looong flights). I'm about to start Death with Interruptions by Jose Saramago. I really enjoyed Blindness, so I'm pretty excited about starting this one. It looks like an interesting premise.
I just finished The Time of My Life and The Help which was a solid 5 stars. I'm on a flight tonight and plan on starting Olive Kitteridge A Novel in Stories.
i finished I Was Told There'd Be Cake from Sloane Crosley yesterday. i liked it, but i did feel that the essays at the beginning were better than the ones towards the end.i started Rebel Angels today, and am going to try to pick up The Lace Reader from the library tonight. i forgot that my bi-monthly book club was supposed to read that for this friday, so hopefully i can pick it up and get through it quickly.
I am now reading Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz. It's fast-paced and interesting enough to keep the plot moving along.

My heart beats in anticipation to hear what you think of Death With Interruptions. I liked it, right up there with The Cave and Blindness!! ♥Saramago

I am finally getting back into Best Friends Forever A Novelby Jennifer Weiner after moving all last week and then the flu for the whole family on top of that! I want couch time with my book-LOL!
Lori how long were you sick with it? My seven year old brought it home last Tuesday and she is still coughing ALOT! Fevers are gone now though.....
Just finished Ella Minnow Pea and really liked it. Overall silly plot, but very sweet, entertaining, and fun.I think I am now going to start High Fidelity by Nick Hornby.
Susan wrote: "Lori how long were you sick with it? My seven year old brought it home last Tuesday and she is still coughing ALOT!
