Lori, have you seen The Last Man on Earth or The Omega Man? Those were 1960’s era films (Vincent Price and Charlton Heston respectively). Can’t say they were good movies but Matheson wrote the screenplay for Last Man so it follows the book better. I loved the Will Smith I Am Legend but more for the action and Smith than for it’s closeness to the novel.

Oh my gosh! I am literally kicking myself for have waiting so long to read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I do not know why or how I came to be the only person left on this Earth who has not yet read this book, but it was simply glorious. I could not believe how much I enjoyed it and I definitely plan on re-reading it over and over again! (And I am NOT one for re-reading books!!!)

This was a marvelous and exquisite dystopian tale of burning books. I love the concepts, ideas, and realism that Bradbury was able to portray and how he captivated the mind, body, beliefs, and soul of the reader in under 200 pages!

I am simply taken aback by this piece of literature that now I am dumbfounded as to what to pick up next!

I finished the Last Symbol by Dan Brown.It was an exciting reading with a good pace. There's a lot actions and pages after page there is an incredible amount of details surrounding the story ...

Marie-Vicky I absolutely LOVED "The Art of Racing in the Rain". I read it last December and it's still my favorite book! Hope you enjoy it.

just finished Burial of Ghosts by Ann Cleeves it was ok not my favourite but i thought it was very easy to read though i read it in less than 48 hours lol im starting Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella now

I'm surprised at the adulation Farenheit 451 is getting. As an English major with graduate degrees, who also taught and is an award winning writer,I can't see what all the fuss is. It's an old idea ,the writing is merely professional, and the relationships pretty tepid. A good book? Yes. But,in my humble opinion , no more than that.

Oh Joseph, F451 is my most favorite Bradbury novel. It was such a great book. It hold a spot in my "fricken awesome" shelf!!!

I first read F451 in the mid-late 60's and was deeply moved by the book as well as educated. I lived in a small rural town and had no exposure to this type of writing until then.

Joseph, I'd love to know what other books there were at that time with same idea. I obviously missed them.

The movie is excellent. Beautiful photography, and the actor who played McCandless did an outstanding job of portraying his struggles and his arrogance.

I had a HUGE crush on Mr Spock back in the day, lol, so I first listened to a lot of Bradbury's work on audio recordings narrated by Leonard Nimoy.

Just finished THE RUINS and was really creeped out! It was alot like the movie, but different enough to make it interesting.

Now I started EVERYBOYS GOT ONE by Meg Cabot. I needed something light!

Donna, I read Shadow of the Wind a couple of months ago and it is one of my all time favorites. Loved his writing - I have Angel's Game on my TBR pile - hoping to get to it soon.
