I really enjoyed Fahrenheit 451 when I read it a few months ago. Couldn't put it down! A graphic novel of the book was released in August, think I may have to buy it...

I would definitely recommend Outliers. He has a very different way of looking at success that makes you think about the way the world works. I haven't read his other books, but I liked this one enough that I might try them. It's one of those non-fiction books that's written well enough that it goes by quickly, never getting too dry.

Hello Kate and Jeane.
This past spring I read two of Lisa See's books. I actually read Peony in Love A Novel first, on loan from a friend, and loved it so much. I then read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, from the library, about 4 weeks later and also loved it. I would suggest that you do not hesitate to read Peony in Love A Novel. It is equally beautiful, haunting and memorable. If I had to pick between the two, Peony comes out on top. As I said though. I loved them both!

I could not finish it...it has been on so many lists to read that I thought something was wrong with me...I have taken Zadie Smith books off my to- read list.

Thank you for the recommendation, Jennifer! I'll definitely keep an eye out for that one. It looks really good too. I love the settings of these novels.

Viki, I listened to it and the words and language that came from them was like ok, not what I would expect from religious people neither.
Finished Confessions of a Shopaholic yesterday which i enjoyed.
Have now started on Motley Crue - The Dirt which is so far interesting and just a bit gross, I think it will get both more interesting and more gross the further i get into it.

And today I started Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card. I'm not loving it as much as Ende..."
I love that book Jayme! Food for thought describes it perfectly! Have you read Blink? It's also by Malcolm Gladwell. After I've fed my fiction fix a little more, I'll bhe reading another one of his books, The Tipping Point. Have you read this one?

I look forward to hearing what you thought of Zadie Smith's White Teeth!

Not one of my favorites, but it was interesting.
Now I'm going to pick up either Blindness, Dexter, The Handmaid's Tale, or The Kite Runner.

Blindness deserved 5 stars from me!!!

Michelle, oh no... You know, I realise that it is not a book for everyone. It is very different from what most people are used to reading. At leas..."
I totally agree with ya , Lori!
Sorry you didn't like it Michelle bus as Lori said, it is not for everyone!

This is my opinion I would like to add that I have listened to the audio of this today. I am so glad its over with. Sorry to say it wasn't my cup of tea. But as it was on my list to read, its over with. Hated the language that some of them used. I also felt sorry for the characters and their faiths, as I have a best friend who is a Jehovah Witness.
I have no idea whether I feel like readin anymore of hers after listening to this.

The Historian is a must read! I hope you enjoy it, it is quite the epic journey.

The handmaid tale if fabulous. Read it years ago. The kite runner is so beautifully written, I'm certain you'll enjoy them both.

Oh I agree both The Historian & The Kite Runner were great reads!

I haven't read either of his other books yet, but I enjoyed Outliers so much that they're definitely on my to read now!

I have so many books to choose from I feel like I'm overwhelmed. I've had The Road on my shelf to read for awhile now and I feel like the ones I've had the longest I should start those first. I think they've been waiting patiently enough....

Melissa, I thought about Dracula as my next read but couldn't decide. Let us know what you think of it. I needed something light and quick so I'm reading The Shop on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber.

Thanks Jennifer. Your reply made me for sure feel better about it. And after what you said about her oter book, I went to read again the summary and it might being in process of convincing me...:-)

Hi Andy, Yeah for the first post!!!
I read that book ages ago, I went on an MTV Pocketbook kick and scoffed those suckers down. This was my first of that publishers stockpile. I thought it was very interesting. I think it was the first book I had read up to that point that was written in letter communication....

I'm hoping to finish tonight, it really is fantastic. I'm enjoying it as much and maybe even a little more than Kafka on the Shore. We'll see how it ends though. Up next is On the Beach by Nevil Shute.

Oooh lucky you!
I finished The Book Of Lost Things which was really good and kinda unexpected. Almost done now with Catching Fire which is a quick read and fun but i'm still not sure Suzanne Collins is the greatest writer ever. I can't decide if sometimes she's playing off the artificiality of the games or just quickly getting herself out of a corner with no where else to go.
