Tania, if you click on (some html is ok) above the comment box, it will bring up a pop-up with instructions on how to add bold and italics to text. And welcome!
I just finished Best Friends Forever A Novelby Jennifer Weiner and have started The Roadby Cormac McCarthy. Not sure what I think yet of The Road, it seems quite dark, yet strangely enough I can't seem to put it down.
THANK you Dorie ! Amazing , but we actually do not see things when they are either too near or too obvious ! (~_^) ! This place is sooooo huge! I have decided that I will see things better here when I come back from Santos ( the beach) , on August, 2nd . It is winter here right now , and it is getting colder and colder in this tropical country ! But I'm going to the beach cuz I need the rest...
Pumpernickel, you can find the discussion for Woman In White under the folder entitled "Group Read Discussions"... it may be hidden by now, so just click on the "view all" link to the right hand side of that folder and you should see it in there.
Dont be too worried about the size of the group, you will find your way around in no time :)

Vicky,You are reading a poignant book and one absolutely unputdownable ! It's a story never to be forgotten... This is more than a book; it's an experience in itself...
Lori,
THANK you so much ! I will check it tomorrow; it's past midnight here in Brazil and I MUST go to bed cuz I'm teaching tomorrow ! Isn't it a happy coincidence that I bought this book today ?
Lori wrote: "Uhm..... YES! Alexander, The Road is one of my favorite novels. You must read it."Well I can't argue with that now can I. Thanks Lori :)
Grace wrote: "I looked there. I'll keep looking. Thanks!"The Poll isn't in this group. If you go on to my profile page where it says which polls I've taken part in, it should be there. Or just click on "more" and it will be listed there :) Let me know if you can't find it Grace.
Kris wrote: "Parts of it I did like and understand, and other parts just went over my head. Fortunately, it's a short book :)"That´s a relief lol

Suzanne, Thanks for the comments. I am starting The Physick Book... today. I agree with your comment about the group. I also love the fact that we have authors on the site who are phenomenal.
I just finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett (Goodreads author). AMAZING! Couldn't put it down. I loved the characters. If you are searching for a 5-star read, this is the one.
Linda wrote: "I just finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett (Goodreads author). AMAZING! Couldn't put it down. I loved the characters. If you are searching for a 5-star read, this is the one."Linda, I agree! My favorite book so far this summer.
I currently in the middle of a few books.Slash-autobiography
The first book in the Pendragon series
and I am about to start City of Bones.
Mary wrote: "Linda wrote: "I just finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett (Goodreads author). AMAZING! Couldn't put it down. I loved the characters. If you are searching for a 5-star read, this is the one."..."
I LOVED this book too.
I'm currently finishing up 'Food Matters' by Mark Bittman. Now I need to buy it so I always have the recipes!
Also reading 'The Art of Racing in the Rain' and just started 'Admission'.
I finished "Dance of Dreams", by Nora Roberts (a little book I had started yesterday)and now I'm reading "Incantation", by Alice Hoffman.
Finished Breathers...now onto Cell. Two more zombie related books and then i move on to the Lord of The Rings.
I've finished Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon, an extraordinarily powerful book. Now I'm reading the last book in Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle, The System of the World
I finished The Associate by John Grisham on the weekend. Currently reading the 19th Wife and re-reading the Lord of the Flies.
Finished Dead Babies, didn't see any humour in it, really. Will probably try a few more of Amis' books though since they are on the 1001 list which I'm trying to read. Next up: Notes From A Small Island by Bill Bryson, another group read.
Finished Three Men in a Boatand laughed heartily. It was exactly my cup of tea humour wise. Situational and british. Now reading Run for Your Lifewhich is my first ever James Patterson book. So far not so impressed, an easy story and a quick read but I am finding the first person narrative distracting and the story is failing to grip me with any anxiety about the fates of the characters (I'm halfway in). Won't be supplanting Dean Koontz for psycho killer thrillers for me any time soon but it was a free lend from a friend of mine and I will probably read the other ones she leant me by him.
Jo wrote: "Im reading The Strain"I read that in June. It is a good book and I look forward to reading the trilogy.
The challenge for me was going from one genre of Vampire to a COMPLETE change!!!
Just finished J. Maarten Troost's Getting Stoned with Savages: A Trip Through the Islands of Fiji and Vanuatu. It was pretty good. Funny, but not as enjoyable as his first book. Now onto Julie and Julia by Julie Powell
Ana wrote: "I finished "Dance of Dreams", by Nora Roberts (a little book I had started yesterday)and now I'm reading "Incantation", by Alice Hoffman."I really enjoyed Incantation, I hope you do too, though it was quite heartbreaking to read.

I'll be looking forward to hearing your comments, I feel that if she keeps writing like this, we are seeing a great new author!
Diane wrote: "BJ Rose wrote: "Getting to the end of audiobook Woman in White (a great book!)....Hi BJ Rose - Will you be going onto The Woman in White Group discussion? I'd love to talk about it with you. It was this group's read for June. "
Diane, I wasn't planning on joining the group discussion 'cause I thought I was too late, but if it's still active, I'll see you there!
Lori and/or BJ Rose,I have looked for the discussion on The Woman in White and haven't been able to find it ! Sorry, but I think I need more 'straightforward' directions , a link or something ! AND : I'm travelling for a week tomorrow !
BJ Rose, the discussions never close, and people jump in on the group reads late sometimes just due to interest or current books or what have you. Never be afraid to peek in and stir up back up!
I finished "April & Oliver", which I liked but didn't love. I'm now ready for a lighter read, so I'm going to catch up with Stephanie and the gang in "Finger Lickin' Fifteen".
Christine wrote: "I am reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. I've heard mixed reviews, but so far I'm enjoying it. "Just had to chime in and say Water for Elephants is one of my absolute favorite books...engaging characters, interesting plot, and very touching ending! Don't think you'll regret reading it :-)
I'm currently reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt. My best friend let me "borrow" it-- I don't really want to give it back, I'm liking it quite a bit so far.

Needles A Memoir Of Growing Up With DiabetesI've just found my first ex husband on Facebook and he wrote something about his niece who has been diabetic since she was young and all of a sudden I find myself in the bookshop with this book on diabetics in my hand. Its quite good reading.
I'm working on The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower by Stephen King. It's soo good. Last in the series, which makes me sad 'cause I love the series and the characters...I feel close to them like I did to the HP characters.
Well I am reading "The Grapes of Wrath"- by John Steinbeck. I read it in igh School and didn't like it know that I reread it 10 years after I love it. I love the way that John Steinbeck writes. I saw in B&N hard cover books with all his works by dacates, I know that I will buy those hard cover books.
Ann from S.C. wrote: "I am reading James Patterson's 8th CONFESSION."I love that series but I'm only up to the 5th book. Hope you enjoy it!
It never ceases to amaze me that with so many diverse reading pallets we always manage to find linkage in the books we love. We always say "so many great books, but so little time." Well, ain't that the truth. I just love that I have had the good fortune to have my mind expanded by the selections of so many people giving me hours of great reads.

I'm typing from Sâo Paulo, Brazil, where I live and teach 'Composition in English' to candidates who want a career in diplomacy here. I MUST read because of my job, but I am totally blessed, cause I LOVE to read. I read in English, French, and Portuguese, of course, my beauuuutiful native tongue.
I have just finished Moscow Rules by Daniel Silva and this was a nice surprise, because frankly I did not expect him to write so well. It was my first book featuring Gabriel Allon, but I liked it so much that I gave it to a friend who underwent surgery on Monday, and he is almost at the end of the book ! I also bought Silva's The Secret Servant; I do hope it's a GOOD book too .
At the moment I've been reading one more book by Donna Leon, cuz an e-acquaintance got me hooked on her books : Death and Judgement. I am half into the book, but I liked detective Brunetti and his wife Paola's discussion on morality.
I look forward to exchange ideas on books with you guys .
Hum... Could anyone tell me where to go to learn how to use italics, bold, etc., here ? Sorry, but I'm SURE I have seen this somewhere !
