I finished Boy Still Missing last night and was going to start Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner but it is due back at the library tomorrow and I can't renew it, so it looks like I am going with Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella.

Just finished The Stolen Child A Novel, which was a 3-star for me. I started listening to The Kite Runner, and started reading Atonement. I'm only 50 pages into Atonement and am still trying to get used to his writing style. Seems like a lot of run-on sentences to me. I'm hoping I'll start getting into it more.
I love TNBBC, but like other members, I do belong to a few other groups. I know there is a lot of interest in John Clinch's novel,Pap, so I have written about it in the Fiction Redux Group. I think my commentary there makes an extremely important point, but since I am a two finger typist(and a bad one at that), I can't take the time to re-write it here.
Would it be heresy to suggest that if you are interested, you take a short trip to the other site? Then you can come home to TNBBC, and we can discuss Finn here if you wish.
P.S. Don't yell at me, Lori. You realize I am very much afraid of you as it is. Best.
Well I have the followin on the go: The Swallow and the Dark - Andrew Matthews
Puberty Blues - Kathy Lette & Gabrielle Carey
The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips - Michael Morpurgo

How are you liking it so far? I've been wanting to read it.
I've started Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and should be finishing up Pride and Prejudice today as well.
I'm listening to Lolita and am loving Jeremy Irons' voice (although the subject is tough going at times).
What did you think of TTTW? I liked it a lot.

I really enjoyed it! It was alot different than I had expected it to be! It had me hooked for sure.
I'm currently reading "Myths, Lies, and Downright Stupidity," by John Stossel. I picked it up in the bargain stack for about $3 and am surprised how much I like it. I'd love to read some fiction, but I'm over the hump and rapidly finishing the first manuscript of my next novel--I can't read fiction while I'm in this stage of writing. However, the nonfiction cleans the palette well!
The reviews are very mixed on "The Girl Who Stopped Swimming", but, except for a few parts where I wanted to smack characters,(the bickering gets a little grating) I loved it. Joshilyn Jackson's "Gods in Alabama", was also fantastic and I now need to go back and find her other book.

Hey all!Currently I'm on Anne Perry's Dark Assassin, its my first read by this author, i'm about 1/2 way into it, and i must say its quite enjoyable.
Oh! Jamie is here too LOLI´m really afraid of Lolita... But I think I could stand it with Jeremy Iron´s voice hehe
I still have 40 pages of To Kill a Mocking Bird to read >.<

It's just too sexy for words, but the book is soooo sad, in a weird way. What happens isn't sad (I mean, apart from the obvious...) but Humbert is such a sad character... hard to explain.

Finished Olive Kitteridge A Novel in Stories a couple of nights ago. I give it 5 stars. It's a different sort of book, each chapter is a separate vignette. There is little to no plot and almost all characterization. Yesterday I started The Gathering, which I am enjoying.
Current reading Four to Score from the Stephanie Plum series. I love these books as reading material for in between the heavier, darker stuff.

I am reading The Shadow Of The Wind. So far so good.
I also really want to read The Book Thief.
My reading list for the weekend:Iron Kissed
The Curse of Addy McMahon
Paper Towns
Daughter of the Flames
The Naming The First Book of Pellinor
Cry Wolf
Adverbs A Novel
Not sure what I'll get through!

I'm trying not to hear too much about the book as I want to go in with as few expectations as possible, but you say you give it 5 stars, so I'm curious to know if you consider it a Pulitzer winner or just a really good book.
El, I don't know what the competition was for this; I also don't know that I'm well read enough to make such a comparison. But as I said, not only did I give it 5 stars, but I've never finished a book knowing I wanted to read it again. It may have resonated with me because of age.
FINALLY finished Joe Hill's Heart-shaped Box and thought it was really good. Not scary really, but supernatural.Read a few pages of The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, which sounds interesting so far.

Esme was a really hard book for me to get into the first time I picked it up. When I went back to it a second time, I could not put it down. It turned out to be darker than I had imagined, but still good.
I've started re-reading Laurie Viera Rigler's Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict; need to read something light to keep me sane from studying like a madman for my exam x(
I just finished The Angel Experiment by James Patterson (the first in the Maximum Ride series). I thought it was great. It wasn't ground-breaking, or terribly deep, but it was a really fun, fast-paced novel. Which I've already come to expect from Patterson. Anyway, I loved it. And I really can't wait to pick up the rest of the series. (Don't you love it when you get into a series and realized that there are tons more novels in said series and you don't have to wait for them? Because I do!)Now, I'll probably pick up Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult (it's a library read and I have to read it soon since the waiting list for this book is astronomical) or probably some other YA book that I just took out from the library. (I only own about about six or seven YA books and am saving those for a rainy day. So, I'm taking any YA books that seem even remotely interesting from the library.)
Plan B 2.0 Rescuing a Planet Under Stress and a Civilization in Trouble is still very good and so interesting. Also going to start Watermelon
Hi Jeane!! I started Woman of Rome A Life of Elsa Morante. The writing is a bit lame (I'm reading an "uncorrected proof" which a bookseller friend sent me; I can only hope the corrected proof tightens things up a bit) but the subject is interesting - Elsa Morante was a strange woman, from a strange family, and had an even stranger husband - Alberto Moravia.

im currently reading 'the robe' by lloyd douglas. interesting story. i heard my stomach squirming from excitement while i was reading the first few chapters.next ill have pride and prejudice by jane austen. ive been wanting to read that.
it's only during summer (or whenever i dont have classes) that i can read novels. quite unfortunate, but at least the excitement just keep welling up after ages of suppression!

Those were before the Maximum Ride books, but about the same experiments. (kind of. he elaborates on the idea)
I finished Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum yesterday. It was excellent, I would highly recommend it! :) And now I'm starting I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith... looking forward to talking to everyone about it in May! :)
I have finished The Swallow and the Dark - Andrew Matthews . I have also read Respect - Michaela Morgan. Will carry on readin some library books.
Allison, I'm glad you liked Esme better the second time around. I've been having a hard time getting into books lately (end of the semester).
Allison (11167), I've had Those Who Save Us on my shelf for a few years, so I'm glad to hear it was excellent!
I started Contact by Carl Sagan yesterday. So far it's OK, but it's not really getting me excited in reading. Hopefully it picks up soon.
I've started reading Kate Mosse's Sepulchre (after staring at it for a couple of months on my mum's bookshelf, lol); I'm only 80 pages into it but I absolutely love it =D
Decided to read Dying LIght - Stuart MacBride (early), but will dip into library books as they are mostly short in between the books I am reading as well.
Just started Any Given Day by Dennis Lehane. Getting into a little Boston history in anticipation of an upcoming Boston trip.
