Nice book however

Well, I am enjoying it Angela. I'd picked it up at a library sale for 2.00, mentioned it to a friend of mine, and she said MOOOVE it to the top of the TBR list. So, once I could, I did. It sucks you in pretty fast, and the story clips along quickly. There are a few twists that make you rethink what your original knee jerk reaction "could" be in the situation with the characters. It's a thinking book.
There is actually a book club discussion section in the back of my edition, it will be interesting to read that as well.
You'll enjoy it.

I am now starting Love in the Time of Cholera in the hopes of finishing it in time to finally participate in a group read discussion.

You should read "Someone like You". I loved it, it's the only Dessen I've read so far, but I plan to read more!

How about I recommend you I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith as t..."
I will check it out, thanks!

hmmm...I'll check on that too! I read a lot of YA.

Luckily, now I understand why. Great book-you really should check it out Melissa!

Susan, How do you like it? I found it a great read and lent it to a friend who also loved it and she and I ..."
Susan, It's tough when books transport you back in time and then return to the present. Choosing what time period you enjoy the best can be a real dilemma. I sometimes think, though, that the tennis match back and forth through time is sometimes what "makes" the story.

I have to disagree with this :) His first book, The Big U, was a lot lighter and sillier than his later books, but I *loved* it when I read it. (It's a book set in a college, and I was in college when I read it, which probably helped) My friends and I all felt it was a surprisingly effective farce on the culture of engineering/science students, we certainly saw a lot of ourselves in it. :)

Luckily, now I understand why. Great book-you really should check it out Melissa!"
Geez, Fiona! I thought I was special!

I started it about half an hour ago and am 43 pages in, so hopefully I will read the entire book tonight!!
I am reading "Chasing Vermeer"
It is about a thief stealing a painting and this book has puzzles. A LOT OF PUZZLES!
There are three books in the series.
Book 1- Chasing Vermeer
Book 2- Wright 3
Book 3- The Calder Game

Well if you like YA then I can also recommend the Arthur tri..."
Thanks for the recommendations!! I'll have to check them all out!
Yeah, I've only read 1 HP and it was a wonderful, fast, and easy read, so I guess I could try another. It took so long for me to get through JN&MS that I kinda lost my motivation for reading, despite the fact that I actually did enjoy the book! I have read one since, The Heretic's Daughter, which was also amazing.
Maybe I'm just afraid of being disappointed after 2 such amazing books!

So, tonight I find myself starting Lady Audley's Secret.

I think I may have started HP 2 at some point, so maybe I'll start with that!

I have reread that series so many times, and every single time I still almost cry when I finish (I'm no crier). Plus it makes me feel like I should go conquer a world or something. haha.

Cynthia, I have tryed to read that book 3 times in my life, and all three times I cant make it past page 60..... Does it really get better after page 75? I thought all the characters seemed so cruel and self serving and I hated reading about them.

Ann, I read the Pesthouse and wasnt 100 happy with it. Ive read two other Crace novels that I felt were far superior to it. If you like his style, check out Quarantine A Novel and Being Dead A Novel

Melissa, I am currently reading a book I love, but cant seem to want to sit still long enough to finish it. My mind seems to be elsewhere... Its something that I would normally have finished in two days and Its been about a week.... So i know how you feel!

When you get to "All The Kings Men," I'll be eager to hear your review. I've been considering it for some time.

Thanks :-)"
I've read all of them up to the 2nd to the last one, and, while I like them all, the first few were the best!

LDB - Sorry you didn't enjoy it and never need to apologize for honestly expressed feelings. I liked the book and I'm glad I read it but wholely support our rights to disagree.

Great!!!!! I remember when I first started reading them I would be very tired the next morning ebcause I would be reading ebfore going to bed and or wouldn't realize the time or would just not be able to put it down!

Thanks :-)"
Yes yes yes!!!!:-) Go and enjoy yourself!!!!

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with GIVEN DAY. I thought that the characters were not well developed and I felt I was slogging through it. I never finished it. In all fairness, I see that some people did enoy it, but many agreed with my assessment. I'll look forward to your comments after you read it.

And I usually don't judge a book until I'm at least 100 pages in.

It only cost her six bucks.
