Why must the directors change a movie from the book, to make the movie just seem dumb?

lol, this must be the most hated movie in the history of EVER!
Or maybe we are just bored... both? :)
i kinda like it, but they left our CLARRISE! THATS CRAZY so i didnt like it that much after.

I like the King James version best too. And liking waffles and cats is not weird Juliet and TikiPaws12! Pets and Food! Two of my most favorite things!!!! :)
And Razenfrozt, I LOVE cats. I have two. Both are calico. And I love talking about favorite things. Even if it is off the subject.

What I don't get with movies from books is why they need to cut out so many important details. It ruins the movie. If they'd just make a disk one and disk to to break the movie up they could produce a film something the fantastic book.
Clarisse was one of my favorites!
the movie deeply angered me, they mentioned chronos ONCE and they didn't portay him as the bad guy. There was no battle between percy and ares, clarisse at all! Percy was never angry at his father and anabeth and all her siblings have to have grey eyes and blonde hair!( was it so hard to give her a wig!)

I'm sure there are lots of Greek monsters that could teach them a good lesson about messing with the wonderful series... don't you guys agree? ;)

only part i liked in the movie was the medusa part which was actually in the book. Casting was awful! i mean, Annabeth percy and the rest of the gang are supposed to be like 12 or something. SHAME ON YOU DIRECTORS. Hey i also went to rick riordan's site and he doesn't look like he is too happy with the movie either.
RANTS ON THE MOVIE VERSION OF ANNABETH:- NO seaweed brain??? i <3 that line. i mean wth, how can u leave out that part?? seriously
- What's with the love interest?? that doesn't start to happen until like the last book. [stupid]
- Annabeth is NOT A BRUNETTE! she is blonde duh.
- Annabeth is not 16, She's 12! major stuff up!
those are my main rants on the character Annabeth [ i wish i could say to the directors faces] i have more but i can't be bothered to typing my other 96 rants.
Please feel free to add on to the list of rants on Annabeth. When we are done let's do percy, then grover and so on. Anybody like my idea???

my dad said they didnt make them 12 cuz its hard 2 find good actors who are 12 and stuff
they could have if they put any actual effort into making the movie
I don't think any teenagers or older would have watched it if they had them 12 in the movie. They were really trying to target a lot of people with this movie, and 12 just woudn't work. I agree they could have done better but I like them older. Besides we really, in the back of our heads, knew it wasn't going to be the same. They might as well make it enjoyable for people who haven't read the book if they can't please the people who have.
yea and we all no tat ratio is way bigger
Too bad though. :( I just don't think about the other when I'm reading/watching and I enjoy them...
I would have liked it better if there were younger actors, I would have found it more relatable to the story.
