Why must the directors change a movie from the book, to make the movie just seem dumb?

They basically made their own story with the title and the characters.

I do love Logan Lerman, though!
Logan Lerman played percy. The book was four stars and AT BEST the movie was two stars.
the movie to me was disappointing! they made it a way that you cant continue the movie because of what they made Hades seems like! The movie was stupid to me and it ruined the book! if they werent going to make the movie right then they should've made it at all!

i hope that the sea of monster book isnt going to disappoint us that bad.... because all movies are disappointing cuz the books are wayy much better!
Sea of Monsters was my least favorite of the series. I can just imagine what they'll do with the movie...
Oh my gosh! They completely left out the fight with ARES! They also left out the part where Hades' helm was also stolen and that was why he was after them! Ugh! Let me just stop thinking about this because it just annoys me even more.
it was my less favorite too but i just hope they didnt do anything crazy like have tyson die or something... who know whats gon happen... smh
I can't believe that Chris Columbus directed it! He did Harry Potter great so why did this bomb!
I wish he had directed the 7th harry potter because it was bad! I mean not bad. Confusing. If I hadn't read the book I probably would have been lost. Also they left out some crucial parts of scenes that they included in the part 1.
Even the ages were wrong...Percy was around 12 years old in the first book..But Logan looks alot like how i imagined Percy...

The movie was TOTALLY DIFFERENT from the book. The lightning thief wasn't even right. Also for all you people that are trashing the movie they didn't forget they took it out to make the movie better. But the movie wasn't better!

The Movie was one of the worst movies based off a book, that I've ever seen!
They were going to put the sence where Percy wakes up and see Annabeth, but they thought it would be more romantic if they had that silent stare! That got me mad!

Ha ha. Totally. I liked the actor for Hades though. He looked okay. And Grover was bugging me through the WHOLE movie. He was supposed to be funny, and goofy. Not like the movie Grover. Ach!! And they did NOT know already that Percy's father was Poseidon! They didn't figure that out until AFTER the Capture the Flag game. I was SO looking forward for seeing his sign!!!!!
ME TOO! Maybe in like 30 years they'll do a remake. And it will be good! And stick to the BOOK!

It does remind me of Tron. Out of curiosity, I watched the 1st Tron on Netflix. I saw the 2nd one first, and I think it was WAY better. But it makes sense because it's newer!!

they cut out the capture the flag scene, well actually they didn't but they made it completely different from the book and I LOVED that part!!!
