[ JT ] | 51 comments I only managed to catch this because I noticed how wrong a book's page count was that I had just finished reading.

It would seem there is a librarian making some changes to urban fantasy editions, and putting wildly incorrect page counts in. I'm not sure where he/she is getting their info, but it's certainly not from the correct books themselves.

I am holding the exact alternate cover editions of their first two changes on this list (two Dresden Files novels), so I know my page counts are correct. I have reverted them and posted a librarian note.

Is anyone else familiar with other editions/novels on that changelist to verify?

I cannot contact this user since they have a private profile.

(As a related aside, I wish we could "lock" certain fields from being changed, once they are verified to be correct. Argh. Having to keep checking on page counts for all the books I own is tedious.)

He is over the 13 required to be a member, and we have quite a few conscientious librarians that age.

I have asked him to respond to this thread.

Beth (bethjustbeth) | 1568 comments Agreed, on age...at least two of my kids could easily have done the job at 13. :)

Hayden Casey (haydenmcasey13) | 5 comments For one, I don't appreciate your age comments. Just because you're older than me doesn't give you any right to tease me for it.
For two, I apologize for my mistake. I have the first six Dresden novels in the most current paperback forms. I updated those on the hardcover pages . . . whoops! Should've created a new edition, huh?
I apologize for my mistake, and will create new editions from this point on.
The Dresden Files books are the only one's I've conscientiously changed wrong editions' page counts on, and I sincerely apologize for this mishap.

P.S. FYI, I'm approaching fifteen.

Adele | 12 comments OK. Now I'd like to ask, since I'm relatively new. About page numbers... if I have a matching copy (same ISBN, same descriptive criteria) but the page numbers are way off, I can change it? I had changed the numbers on a few books, but not all that I think ought to be changed. ~Thanks.

Thanks for responding here, Hayden.

Yes, it's important to only update page numbers when the ISBN matches the edition you have.

Adele, yes, if you have double-checked the ISBN, go ahead.

Adele | 12 comments Alrighty, then! Thank you! I will from now on. I'll double check my already posted books eventually. Just wish there was a way to view all the books characters without going book by book. Ah well.

Hope everyone is staying safe in all this lovely weather around the country!
