Those photos are great. Was that wisteria fabulous or what? Thanks for sharing, I had a great time that day.

Hey Ladies- A group of us are going to be doing the tour this Saturday. Which T Station do you recommend?

Oh, I'm sorry I missed this! I've been sick for like a month and totally out of it. I hope i can attend your next meet-up! I'm a Boston's North End local. Lots of good places to eat there! I LOVE that house with the wisteria. Great photos!
Jessica wrote: "Hey Ladies- A group of us are going to be doing the tour this Saturday. Which T Station do you recommend?"Downtown Crossing or State Street are both good.

If you do Downtown Crossing, make sure you head towards Washington Street... I headed in the opposite direction, and got completely lost!
Okay, I've got the post ready for you all! Bloggers Recommend Summer Reads - a BOTNS Boston event: the link is here. Leave a note and tell me what you think. The formatting keeps shifting, but if you can figure it out--that's good.

Yes, Ann, I can just feel everyone's heart rate slowing and then the wiggle to settle themselves in their seats when you begin telling the story of the books to come. Your kids must have loved hearing you read bedtime stories...perhaps they still ask for them?

Hey Boston Goodreads friends...anyone interested in the fundraiser night for the Boston Book Festival with Tom Perrotta on July 28th? It's a $35 donation for a night at the Middlesex Lounge in Cambridge with open bar and hors d'oeuvres. More info on their web site: http://www.bostonbookfest.org/bookfes...I was thinking of going but it would be much more fun with a group! Let me know if you want to meet.
What an excellent idea! I suppose we'd need to bone up on his books? Any recommendations on which one I should choose? I just might be able to make it this night. Am willing, if not able...

Sounds like fun...but too far for me ..and Jen, you are NOT "old". N
Okay, folks, I'm officially going to the fundraiser for the Boston Book Festival scheduled for Thursday, July 28 evening. Bought a ticket and eveything. As a result, I am entered to win...Look forward to seeing other BOTNS Boston fans there as well.

Just realized that the 28th is our live call in chat with Steve Himmer, so I'll have to take a pass. Have fun!

Okay, all you BOTNS fans, you still have something to do on Thursday nite while we are downtown keeping the Boston Book Festival solvent.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I am taking a solo bike ride this Sunday up Rt. 127 from Beverly, MA to Gloucester, MA stopping at "Manchester by the Book" in Manchester-By-The-Sea, MA and "Dogtown Bookstore" in Gloucester, MA along the way... maybe an ice cream stop at Captain Dusty's as well. What's better than biking and book browsing by the ocean on a beautiful Sunday afternoon (weather permitting)? Just throwing it out there!

Darn it. Thunderstorms. Well, if it clears up I'll be biking. If not, I'll be driving and book browsing anyways. :)

Vanessa, that sounds like so much fun. I would love to join you if you do it sometime in the fall. I have plans for Sunday.

That does sounds like the perfect day but I don't think I can make it this Sunday. Next month is the Salem Literary Festival - maybe we can get a group together for that. http://www.salemlitfest.com/

Marly wrote: "Vanessa, that sounds like so much fun. I would love to join you if you do it sometime in the fall. I have plans for Sunday."I agree, Vanessa. It sounds like a marvelous excuse for an outing. I was away this weekend, though. The fall sounds like a good idea.

I know Marie from Boston Bibliophile has plans to speak there, I thought, and that is always fun.

I'm so sad -- I just realized that I have a conflict with the Boston Book Festival. The New England Independent Booksellers Association fall conference is the same weekend in Providence, and Michael and I will be working there all weekend. Waaaah.

Just wanted to let people interested in the Boston Book Festival know that tickets for some of the events have gone on sale. While you don't need a ticket to get in (and in general the festival is free), reserved seating will be sold online for $10 for particular events:http://www.bostonbookfest.org/tickete...
In case anyone is interested in meeting up, I am planning on attending at least the talk called "Fiction: Time is...", which Jennifer Egan will be speaking at. Plus I will be wandering around lots!
Also, the next day (10/16) Erin Morgenstern will be at the Concord Bookshop (that's Concord, MA), doing an event for my new favorite book, The Night Circus. I am so excited to go!

I should be at the Erin Morgenstern event at Concord Bookshop.
Afraid I'll have to miss the BBF, though, since I will be working at the New England Independent Booksellers Association fall conference Wed-Fri, and my family will disown me if I abandon them on Saturday.

Ann, when will Erin Morgenstern be in Concord? I'd love to go to that event. That's a great little bookstore huh? I am just loving The Night Circus and I would love to meet the author.

Callie wrote: "In case anyone is interested in meeting up, I am planning on attending at least the talk called "Fiction: Time is...", which Jennifer Egan will be speaking at. I'm definitely going to be at the Boston festival on the 15th too! I haven't yet decided which events I want to try to go to but the Jennifer Egan panel was on my list.

I'm going to look at my schedule and try to make sure I can make it to the BBF. We should try to coordinate if any of us want to go to the same events.

Loretta wrote: "I'm going to look at my schedule and try to make sure I can make it to the BBF. We should try to coordinate if any of us want to go to the same events."I really would like to go to the Sarah Bakewell talk, but I can't find her on the schedule. Anybody see it?
Trish- she's on the events page:http://www.bostonbookfest.org/bookfes...
Surprisingly, not one of the ones that offers reserved seating.
The BBF cannot come soon enough. It was so wonderful last year, I can only imagine what this year will be like. If anyone is going to the Tony Horowitz talk a couple of us will be there.

Ann and I are huge fans of Levenger, both their philosophy on living a well-read life, AND their products. If you live in the Boston area, you'll want to head over to the Levenger store at the Prudential Center on Thursday, March 1st, from noon - 2pm. Martha White, granddaughter of E.B. White will be signing copies of the book she edited: In the Words of E.B. White: Quotations from America's Most Companionable Writers.
Ann and I will be at sales conference, or else we'd be there to meet Ms. White, and probably spend way too much on cool Levenger stuff!

Oh, Levenger . . . I drool over their catalog, so I cannot imagine how marvelous it would be to visit their store!

Anyone in Boston tonight want to go see a literary trivia smack down with a great panel at Think Tank in Cambridge? Sounds so awesome!!http://www.bostonbookfest.org/bookfes...

Sorry to miss it as I have other plans already.
