Welcome Elena! Do you have specific genres you stick with reading? We have a wide group of interests in this group so you will probably get plenty of recommendations if you ask for suggestions.

Hi, I'm jingles. I've been kind of lurking for awhile, and finally decided to join the group.Romance is my favorite genre to read. Audio books are kind of new to me. My first audio experience was Outlander narrated by Davina Porter, and I loved it.
Right now, I'm working my way through two series: In Death by J.D. Robb, and the Cotton Malone series by Steve Berry.
I look forward to being part of the group.
Welcome jingles! Outlander was one of my first audiobooks (after a few Susan Elizabeth Phillips books). It certainly set the bar high.
Welcome Jingles! I originally read Outlander series before I was seduced by the awesome-ness of Davina Porter and I'm not sure I can ever read the series again! Mentioning In Death series which is another gotta listen to (due to awesome Susan Ericksen) makes you aces in my book. I have bought some of the Cotton Malone audios for my DH and he's hit or miss on them. Not sure if it's his attention span (he spouts boring and then gets in grossed) or if it's the books. I have them on my TBL list but I've been solidly in a romance (pick your sub-genre) mood for some time now. :)
Hi Jingles...Amazon is having a sale, of sorts, on the older In Death books, which I think includes a Whispersync special on the audiobooks. Also, about once a year audible has a 3-2 special on them...that is when I bought most of mine. We have a JD Robb group...you should check it out.
Welcome! I'm also working my way through the In Death series. Some audio, some e-book, some physical copy. Whichever is cheapest. I'm always thrilled when the audiobook is the winner as I love Susan Ericksons portrayal.
Hi, my name is Raquel and I'm from Spain. I just turned 40 and discovered audiobooks a couple of years ago. I didn't know what I was missing. My favourite genres are romance and science fiction, but I'm open to all kinds of books as long as the narration is good. I just love a good narration! Phil Gigante is my absolute favourite.
Hi! My name is Marie and i'm from New Orleans. I've been a fan of audiobooks for a LONG time, mostly listening to them in the car with my children. It was (and is) a good way for us to be able to talk about the same story with no one zooming ahead or lagging behind. Then I realized I could listen to audiobooks while on the treadmill or running outside and not miss a beat or get seasick in the process. I mostly listened to Fantasy stuff (Wheel of Time, Outlander, Game of Thrones, etc.) Even though I love romance novels, it never occurred to me to listen to them in audio until I started *narrating* them. Duh. Now I've totally switched my treadmill genre.
Hi, my name is Erin and I adore audiobooks. I've been listening to them for years but just recently my life has gotten too busy to allow for reading 'real' books and audiobooks have allowed me to keep up with my favorite hobby. Some of my favorite narrators are: Rosalyn Landor, Renee Raudman, Khristine Hvam, MacLeod Andrews and Patrick Lawlor. I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone else likes to listen to!
Welcome Erin! As my life has grown busier, I now listen more than I read. We have plenty of areas here to share your listening - hope we see you on a regular basis!

It's hard for me to choose a favorite but a couple that stand out for me are: Over the Edge and Out of Control. :)
Hi everyone my name is Monica and I'm from Portugal.I discovered audiobooks 3 or 4 years ago.
I'm a little more busy with work now and I get tired reading after working late at night, so audio does it for me and it's so intense sometimes that if I was reading it myself didn't get the attention the books needed. Now I can't get enough!
My favourite genres are romance and science fiction, but I'm open to all that's good.

Welcome Monica! I too am reading less and listening more. Hope to hear more from you and that you find some great recommendations here.

Welcome Sam. You are going about it the right way - looking for narrator recommendations for your favorite print books!
Hi. I'm Shannon. I live in Michigan, and have been an audioreader all my life. I'm totally blind, and audio is much easier to find than Braille. I love historical and paranormal romances. I also read a lot of suspense and urban fantasy. My favorite authors include Courtney Milan, Yasmine Galenorn, Nalini Singh, and Lisa Jackson. As for narrators, I adore Steven Crossley, Anne Flosnik, Cassandra Campbell, Renee Raudman, and Angela Dawe.
Hello, I am Cara and I'm 29 years old from Lafayette, LA. I'm married and have a two year old son, Ezra. I am an audiobook fanatic. I need to adjust my GR bookshelves to reflect which books I listened to vs read because I probably listened to about 80% of my library. I tend to listen to 3-5 books at a time (depending on my audible account credits/ discounts, and audiobooks I'm able to locate through overdrive or the public library.) I tend to listen to predominantly series in urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and some YA-MA genres. I am so thrilled to find this group of fellow audiobook fans and hope to make some new friends and find great recommendations as well as offer my own favorites and any tips on hard to locate audiobooks.

Hi, I'm glad I found you! My name is Yadira and I live in Texas. I've been listening to audiobooks for a long time, the first audiobook I listed to was on cassette! I have lots of writer I enjoy, but my favorite audiobook romance writers are Diana Gabaldon, Kresley Cole and Jeaniene Frost. I'm looking forward to getting and giving recommendations to other audiobook "readers" in this group.
Hi, I'm Jonetta and thank you to Dawn for telling me about this group.
I've been listening to audiobooks for many years but until recently, limited the titles to mostly mystery/suspense and some romantic suspense. With all these great narrators these days, my audio world has expanded. Plus, my hubbie got me a set of fearsome wireless, Bluetooth enabled speakers for Christmas, which just about doubled my listening time.
Some favorites:
Myron Bolitar series (Jonathan M., narrator)
Phil Gigante (KMM's Highlander series)
Davina Porter (Outlander series)
Jim Frangione (BDB - just discovered with The King)
Carolyn McCormick (The Hunger Games series)
Jane Entwistle (I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella)
Just to name a few...

Welcome Jonetta! I see three series favorites that we have in common - KMM's Highlander, Ward's BDB, and Gabaldon's Outlander.
:). Oh and gosh I love all those narrators you mentioned. Now I will mention a few...Nicholas Boulton (Laura Kinsale books), Rosalyn Landor, Ashford MacNab, and Dennis Kleinman...just to mention a few. These narrators can read the phone book and I would pay for it.
Hi! I'm Sandra from the Southern United States. Thank you, Dawn, for sharing info on this group. I am relatively new to audio books but was converted by the narrator of the In Death series - Susan Erickson. Now, I don't travel anywhere without an audio book going to help pass the time.

I realize this thread is years old, but looks like everyone's still using it for intros so here goes... My name is Joanna - from NY - and I look forward to reading through all these intros, if only to steal some of your favorite narrators. ;)
I have been addicted to audiobooks for about 5 years and can no longer drive without one or I end up feeling like I've wasted precious time. It's a little ridiculous. I'm well aware.
Favorite authors: Steven King, Haruki Murakami, Christine Feehan (particularly the Drake Sisters series), Karen Marie Moning (particularly the Fever series) Stephanie Meyer (don't hate), Charlaine Harris (again, only certain series), Jamie McGuire, Tim LaHaye, Lauren Oliver, Julia Quinn, Maggie Stiefvater, S.C. Stephens, Maya Banks (again, only certain series), Jennifer Armentrout
I'll stop there.
I'm still discovering narrators, but I do love Phil Gigante, Craig Wasson, Simon Vance, Rosalyn Landor, Edward Hermann and David Pittu.
Welcome Joanna! I think we need to start a new thread if this one is looking old to newcomers. :) I didn't realize it had been years! Look forward to hearing from you.
We are closing this thread and now have a new Introduction thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...See you there!
