Heavenlypeachgarden This book whether accurate or not is totally disgusting, the title itself is enough to make me totally sick, she is not and never will be one of our own, like all filthy murders she has forfited that right, Myra Hindley was not missunderstood she was part of an evil duo who lured children to their deaths and did not even have the compassion to give them proper graves, and the Author will be getting money off the back of a child murderer, I wonder is all these people who give this book 4 or 5 stars, the author and reviewers have children themselves, if they do I am very surprosed at their reaction to this book.
As a Mancunian I am disgusted that this book even got to print.

Lynda Kelly Whether you like it or not it's part of English history and merits documenting.
They're not the only murdered children to be written about nor the only murdered children to be murdered by a female either. Sad but true.
I gave it 4 stars as it's the first book I've read of the case written since her death and for me it was interesting.

Jools I have to agree with the other post. This is part of british history. My mother was only a child when these terrible events took place and she was the one who told me the stories of these murders. Even today my children know who the "Moores Murders" are. So yes this book has a right to be published and it is well written and deals with facts.... Everyone should know what these monsters did. They are not the first and they will not be the last kid killers in this world.

I concur with Lynda & Jools comments.

Roo I don't agree. I think books like this need to be written so that we can understand why people like Myra exist, to show that even the most normal of folk can be twisted and that killers aren't just evil caricatures. I'm from Manchester too so it is a subject close to my heart. I remember riding in the car with my mother once, and she turned round to me and told me about the murders. You can't even imagine the chill I felt. Also, this book did not suggest Myra was misunderstood whatsoever, and the title refers to a quote from Myra. What she did is testament that even 'one of us', an apparently normal Mancunian woman, is capable of hideous crimes.

Karl Sometimes it's best to look at the context of the title rather than judge it on face value.
