SOLVED. Book about boy and girl and a house with a secret and maybe a ghost [s]

I read this book when i was a child. It had a boy and a girl and a house, It had a secret room or a basement with mountains of stuff. at the top of a pile is an object of interest. Its not mentioned until the end of the book. I know it seems the junk piles consist of stuff from civil war and old stuff. It might even had something to do with the underground railroad. It just slips my mind.

Maybe The House of Dies Drear or The Mystery of Drear House: The Conclusion of the Dies Drear Chronicle? I wouldn't describe what they find as 'junk,' but the plot is related to the underground railroad.
