Janet Whalen | 2 comments book read around 1990. Amazing book with premise that time travel is possible via DNA links. One can project their conciousness to enter the mind of their direct ancestors and experience life in that time and place. Near future initial setting, method developed by good woman scientist I think using a serum which is limited in quantity. Stolen by bad guy who goes back to Napoleonic times to raise havoc. Chased back in time by woman scientist, who is then chased by I think some kind of cop. Bouncing around in time as she tries to stop bad guy, ?cop tries to find her, everybody has to bounce back to lab to get more serum, love blooms with scientist and cop as they chase the bad guy. Please help, Ive been trying to find this book for 20 years. I loaned it to a friend who lost it, and I never could recall the title or author. Mass Market paperback probably from late 80s or early 90s as I worked at a used bookstore around that time. I think the title had "time" in it. Thank yall in advance for your help.

Janet Whalen | 2 comments Oh YES!!! Thank you so much, I have been frustrated for 20 years over this book, badgering bookstore clerks everywhere. As soon as I saw the cover picture on Amazon, I remembered. I knew the author had a name in the middle of the alphabet from where it was shelved. I was assistant manager for a used bookstore when bookstores were wonderfully musty smelling basements and attics, with labrynthine shelves and hidden nooks often inhabited by fluffy cats. We served no lattes. We had no computer, and we were expected to have an encyclopedic knowledge of books. This was before megastores took over, sometimes staffed by interchangeable retail associates who don't even READ, and need a computer to find "product" on their own shelves. You have helped fulfill an epic quest and made me Verrrry Happy! Good Karma is yours today indeed!

That's correct. That book is on the bookshelf here, referencing this thread.

Whoever answered the question in 2011, their post got deleted. Either they manually deleted it, or they deleted their entire account and their comments vanished with them.

Grant Rayner | 3 comments Ah, right makes sense why it would disappear I guess though it made this thread make no sense at all :)

Thanks for responding Lobstergirl.

I believe whoever posted the answer may have then deleted their post. It does make it annoying for those of us who like to know the answers -- often we want to read it, too!

Memories
