Excellent word choice - befusticate. It's my goal to use this more in life. That and 'defenestration'.

message 52: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (stewartry) Or was it confusticate ...? Oh bother.

message 53: by Jessie Leigh (new)

Jessie Leigh (msjessie) The point got across either way. And I'm quite fond of befusticate.

Maggie K Hi-I am Maggie and I am a geek!
I could rant all day about that review (how can this woman claim to be a journalist), but I am making myself think of other things

Nevan | 1 comments Hey! I'm @prenden2 on "The Twitter," but, unless you're into random warblings on the state of international golf, it's probably best to disregard this sentence.

Depending on your point of view, as a male I'm either an unwelcome interloper, or a pioneering social-rights activist.

message 74: by Amy (new)

Amy (lucysfootball) | 2 comments Hi, everyone! I'm Amy - @and_we_drown on Twitter - and am looking forward to the discussion! I'm a theater geek, mostly (backstage primarily, onstage once in a while), but that doesn't pay the bills, so I work at a tax firm during the day. I read a lot, write some, watch way too many tv shows and movies, am online constantly, and have been a sf/f/h geek since I was a wee one, so yay for a group of like-minded folks!

message 79: by Kris (new)

Kris (bibliofilebk) | 24 comments Hi! I'm @krisrudin on Twitter, and I have a book review blog at http://bibliofilebk.blogspot.com. Most of the reviews posted there are also here on Goodreads. I'm an AVID reader, of all genres, but my first love is SF. I'm a huge Neil Gaiman fan (does that man EVER publish anything less than brilliant??), but I also love classics such as 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. I really enjoy stories with girls/women who kick butt, either metaphorically or literally! :-)

message 80: by Kim (new)

Kim Brittingham (kimbrittingham) | 1 comments Hi! My name is Kim Brittingham. I wrote a memoir called "Read My Hips: How I Learned to Love My Body, Ditch Dieting and Live Large" which was just released in May. I work in New York City and live in a tiny Victorian seaside town. I'm 40 going on...oh, I don't know...14? I still have dreams featuring the members of Duran Duran (as they appeared in 1984). Just last night I dreamed I was in a thrift store and found a new-in-package cardboard car air freshener in the shape of John Taylor and couldn't believe my good fortune. If it was possible to earn a living just being a college student, that would be my job. This past spring I took four courses at the local community college and it was bliss. I can't afford to re-enroll just now, but on occasion I pull up their online catalog and swoon. I've been unemployed since 2009, though I'm currently working a temp gig in a law office, which is conveniently located near a Pinkberry.

Kate (katestpaul) Hey guys, I'm @glorious_clio on le twitter! My favorite genre of sci fi is mostly time travel. I adore Doctor Who! Anyone watch/read it? I am also obsessed with Connie Willis - everyone here should read "To Say Nothing of the Dog" by her.

I have an undergrad degree in History and am currently pursuing a masters in library science. Bring on the nerdy-ness!

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, I'm Antía, from Spain. I don't have twitter account, but I'm already following the group on Google+ Nothing much to tell about me, bookworm and cinema geek, I try to expand to all kind of reading. I've read and enjoyed some of the books you've read already (I've got really excited to know you're reading Princess Bride, it's one of my most beloved books) so I think this might be a fun place for me to be.

I just finished the Song of Ice and Fire series (well, I guess to put it more accurately, caught up with the series)--I started it in June and am having extreme withdrawal, so I'm ecstatic to have stumbled on a community of well-read women who appreciate my literary sensibilities!
