I've finished The Prodigal Mage and I'm halfway through rereading The Witches of Eileanan. I was disappointed with the Prodigal Mage, but I think it would have been better if I'd (known about and) read the The Innocent Mage duology first to understand the characters and world history better.
Having just finished reading the first three books in Gail Carriger's Parasol Protector series from my TBR pile, I am starting a little late but working on two SciFi/Fantasy books for this Moths challenge:1.) N.K. Jemisin – Perdido Street Station
2.) China Miéville – The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms
cheers :)
I've had to change books for this challenge, moving from The Dreaming Void to Deathworld 1. The Dreaming Void has a couple of fatal flaws, for me. 1. A ponderously slow plot. 2. Characters that fail to engage. Over 100 pages in (of more than 700... ) and I still haven't found an intriguing story or a character who inspires my like, dislike or more than passing curiosity. So switching to Harry Harrison, who never fails to entertain.

Great books Visible! Glad you could join in...I'm sure you'll do fine with them :)
Dale, good to see you changed books...nothing worse than forcing yourself to read a book that you're not enjoying!!

Ended up reading Battle Royale for this challenge. Quite good, 4 stars. Similar to The Hunger Games, written way before Hunger Games too.
I dont think I am going to finish 'The Dark & Hollow Places' in the next week. Im only on page 83/374 :O
I read
and
. Both were novellas, but I preferred Demon's Fall about the unlikely love between a demon and an angel.
Finished The Handmaid's Tale. Great book, gave it five stars. My friends daughter did this book for year 12. I wish I had this for year 12 ... there would have been some interesting discussions following.
Switching books worked well for me. I've now completed (and enjoyed)
. My review is here :http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

I highly recommend The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress it was a brilliant Sci-Fi novel covering freedom and politics; it's futuristic social commentary of humanity
Knowledge Lost wrote: "I highly recommend The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress it was a brilliant Sci-Fi novel covering freedom and politics; it's futuristic social commentary of humanity "I am a Robert A. Heinlein from way back - Have read most of his books and slowly working my way through some re-reads
It was my first glimpse of Robert A. Heinlein and I really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of book that leave you with something to ponder, so this book worked well for me. Are you a Philip K Dick fan too, Sally?

Won't get the chance to finish my Sci-fi novel for the challenge but I will continue reading afterwards because it is a really good book (Ender's Game).
I finished The Dark and Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan late last night, and thought it was exceptional. Its the final book in the Trilogy, and the best one too. It is hands down the best book I have read this year. Five stars...i'll link my review when i get on the computer later.

Here is my review for "THE DARK & HOLLOW PLACES". No matter how hard I tried, I could not do it justice: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
