I'm new to the group so if this topic has surfaced already ... sorry. This morning I used my Kindle, turned it off, then later noticed there was no picture displayed. I turned on the Kindle but could not access any of my purchased items. Finally, it just kept flashing the Amazon logo. I called Amazon and the nice gentleman told me to hold the on-off toggle in the "on" position for 30 seconds. The Kindle rebooted and all is fine again.
That is good info to know Gail. I've only had my Kindle for a week (a birthday present from my kids). Sounds like it works a lot like an ipod, just reboot and all is well. Thanks
I'm glad you were able to get help right away. I've found the Kindle Support page full of useful information including how to unfreeze my Kindle. It's useful to browse because there are a lot of features you may not use yet and it'll tell you how to do it all. Have fun with it.

Yes, I had something similar happen to my netbook and that was how I corrected it also.
