J.A. Beard (jabeard) Okay, I should be caught up. If it was a blogspot blog with a follow bottom, I followed there, everybody else went into my Google Reader. Woo!

Mine is at http://www.riftwatcher.blogspot.com

My blog is mostly just idle thoughts about writing, slight bit of sample stuff on Sundays, though lately I've been trying to get into interviewing authors (self-published or traditionally published), so if you're ever interested in being interviewed (and have something published), just send me a message. Also willing to do guest posts and what not.

message 124: by Rick-Founder JM CM BOOK CLUB (last edited May 21, 2011 11:34AM) (new)

Rick-Founder JM CM BOOK CLUB | 1 comments As the Founder/Moderator of another Group on goodreads, (I do not feel it is ethical to mention name on another fine Group's site) I am contacted by wonderful authors who have written so many fine books-
As my Group has well over 4,100 members - I am looking for quality book sites/blogs such as yours to highlight three books that I feel truly deserve attention and by their very uniqueness, merit a spot on your site. They are all published by Booktrope Publishing- a Publisher that I, after being approached many publishers, have decided to affiliate myself with. The main reasons are Booktrope is a publisher interested in publishing well written books, regardless of if the author is brand new or a veteran writer and they allowed me to look through their entire catalog and only choose those books I truly believed in to work with- there are three I chose.

I am happy to send you complimentary copies of any or all of the books I chose as well as set up author interviews.

I am also happy to feature an individual thread for your site/blog/writings (prominently placed-and the option of allowing you to write your own description or I will be happy to) as well as the link for those who wish join or visit your blog

My thousands of members are multi-genre readers and highly literate book buyers and readers as one look at the MEMBER INTRO and WHAT ARE YOU READING threads(over 5,500 posts alone) will show.

*****IMPORTANT NOTICE**** I have many, many wonderful writers in my Group, with whom I have no affiliation but that of respect and friendship- I offer my full support to them and their books, as much as to the three books listed above.

The books I have chosen are:

Dove Creek is a wise, eloquent, fiercely honest fictional chronicle of a young woman's venturesome journey from her bare-bones Kentucky background to an Indian reservation in the Pacific Northwest. She finds a new life as a much-loved healer--a blonde, female, hillbilly shaman whose self-destruction and dogged perseverance come together in a novel of intimacy that crosses the boundaries of culture and time.

"We don't have enough female quest stories, but this is one of them--lyrical in its language, vivid in its detail, important in its observations of the chaos and confusion that come when a young woman lets go of her identity and strikes out on her own perilous journey of self-discovery."

-Kim Barnes, author of A Country Called Home

"Paula Marie Coomer writes like a house afire, and her richly variegated novel deserves a prominent place in the literature of the modern American west."

-Ed McClanahan, author of Famous People I have Known
and O the Clear Moment.

Dove Creek

An atmospheric tale of intrigue, heroism and romance, spanning cultures and continents, against a backdrop of twisted politics and international nuclear espionage.... "Skull Dance is not only a fast-paced suspense thriller but a haunting book rooted in realism....If you plan on reading just one book this year, this should be it." - greatreporter.com "A timely tale of intrigue, terrorism and greed...packed with 'edge of your seat' action and soul searching realism....I highly recommend this book to anyone with a taste for adventure and intrigue." - The Popper Gazette "Gerd Balke brings the customs and culture of India to life, and international intrigue and espionage to magnificent proportions. Skull Dance is a diamond of a thriller...." - Patricia Spork, Writer's Graphic Image

For every man who has lost love, and every woman who is searching for it.
Penny Leyton is one smart sexy woman on her way to the top. Bridget Jones she certainly is not, but she has the same chaotic approach to romance. Just as she is breaking through the glass ceiling, her boss Dave Stockton hints at a workplace scandal. Ablaze with moral outrage, Penny realizes too late that one of her own friends is implicated and that she herself is part of the problem. Can she untangle herself from a hidden web of intrigue and save herself?

"Anyone who cares about love will give this book to their partner or spouse, sister or brother."

- Dr. Poonam Thapa, Gender, Culture and Sexual Health Expert

.
Please do check out my JAMES MASON COMMUNITY BOOK CLUB, and let me know if you would be interested in forming a joint relationship and which book or books you would like a free copy of, as well as if your would like to have an Author interview or any other information or material.

I look forward to your response.

Keryl wrote: "So, ummm... what's the value of all of us following each other?"

Good question Keryl. The main aim of this group is to connect writers round the globe via the help of social media. When you click on a writer's blog, and you don't like what you see, it's left to you to follow or not. No one is forcing you to follow other writers.

Now, I believe the more followers you have the more exposure you're going to get. Readers would want to check out/follow a blog that has much followers, so this thread will help you achieve that.

Indie Books List (indiebookslist) | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm an Indie writer who likes to promote other Indies (and even, as I call them, "not-so-Indies").

My blog is here:
http://www.indiebookslist.com

I post excerpts twice a day, Mon - Fri. Weekends are a little different because traffic is lighter.

I also run a few other blogs to promote people. But for now, I'll just tell you about Indiebookslist. :)

Thanks!

Keryl Raist (kerylraist) | 15 comments Kelvin wrote: Now, I believe the more followers you have the more exposure you're going to get. Readers would want to check out/follow a blog that has much followers, so this thread will help you achieve that. "

I guess that's what I'm hoping to find out. Does anyone know for a fact that the more followers you have the higher up in say the google ranks you get?

Not that I'm adverse to liking/following things I do like. It's just that if I can take half an hour to write, or half an hour to get involved with discussions here, or half an hour checking out blogs and following, I'd like to know which of those half hours has the highest impact on my visibility.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 15 comments I know that if more people are going to your site (hits) then it does hire your ranking so I would assume having more followers and people visiting would do the same thing but I don't know for sure.

Elizabeth Lang | 1 comments My blog is SciFi Worlds.

Every Monday, I post a news blog "In the Ether" which touches on things that effect the world of publishing, science fiction or the world in general. Today I posted on the impact of social media.

On Fridays, I post a Science: Fact or Fiction blog which explores science fiction concepts in relation to our current scientific understanding and technological development. Last Friday's blog was on Wearable Computers.

Come and check it out. If you have a science fiction-related blog, let me know and I'll check it out :) I will also place a link for your site if we have similar-focused blogs.
