SOLVED: Adult Fiction > SOLVED. Woman was a victim of a serial killer, became FBI agent? [s]

Hi, so this is what I remember:
Girl was a victim of a serial killer. He took her to his house and there was another girl, also his victim. He was going to kill them both. This heroine understood that he kills those girls who start screaming and show fear, so she was silent and he kept her alive, locked in some small space while he was killing other girls. She heard everything and told the girls to be silent, but they all started screaming in the end. She was rescued by the police just as she was ready to kill him or succeeded killing him, I'm not sure. When she was freed, she became FBI agent (maybe profiler???) and from that point I think it was romantic suspense story.

I know this is not much information, but I read this book couple years back, have no idea who's the author or what's the title.
Thanks for your input in my quest to re-read this story:)

This one sounds familiar and my first guess is Allison Brennan but I haven't read The Hunt so maybe not. I will look in my books and try to remember.

I'm agreeing with Pamela on this one. I've read only the short story that was the prequel to the series, but it seems like it could be the Lucy Kincaid series.

Touched by a killer, she feels the fire of revenge.

Twelve years ago, Miranda Moore miraculously survived the torture of a serial killer who was never caught. Since then, Miranda, a former FBI trainee and now a member of a local search-and-rescue squad, has witnessed with horror the recovery of the mutilated bodies of seven young women, all victims of her tormentor, known as The Butcher. When another beautiful Montana college student goes missing, the Feds get involved, and an agent, a man Miranda once trusted with her heart, arrives to take over the investigation–forcing her toward a painful choice.

Now, while Miranda battles her demons, while friends, lovers, and traitors are caught up in a frantic race against time, a killer hides in plain sight–waiting to finish the one hunt he has left undone.

After the hunt, go in for the kill.

Kind of sounds like the first Catherine Coulter book of the FBI series. Was there a maze? A pair of sisters, one who was a classical pianist?

Dziuste No, not that one - I read Catherine Coulter's FBI series and it's not the same book. But thanks for the suggestion. ...more
