8th Group Read

It is that time - time to nominate for our next group read. Don't like what we're reading? Nominate something! The book must be (1) original fairy tale collection (2) retelling of a fairy tale (3) criticism/biography (4) inspired by fairy tales.

Nicola, that looks very interesting! I'll have to check that one out. :D

I, however, would like to nominate Sisters Red a story based off of Little Red Riding Hood.

After reading about Little Red Riding Hood in the Fairy Tale of the Month it got me thinking about all the different versions that were really floating around out there. I did some searching and came across this one. It has some mixed reviews but with those, and the descriptions it's really got me curious!

I'd love to have this as a group read, I heard many reviewers describe this story as "deep" so I think it would be a lot of fun to discuss.

I'd like to try one of the Canongate Myth series like Weight: The Myth of Atlas and Heracles or The Penelopiad: The Myth of Penelope and Odysseus or Karen Armstrong's A Short History of Myth. Something more adult suits me better.
