I'm almost through with Once a Runner by John L. Parker, which I quite like so far. I wonder how it will end...
I am breezing through Girl, Interrupted. There is something so refreshing about books set in mental institutes.
I'm reading The Great Gatsby and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn ... I'm working through a list of Great American Novels!I'm also re-reading the Harry Potter Boxset, my summertime tradition!
'A New Song' by Jan Karon. Not sure how this one ended up in our library, and not sure what possessed me to pick it up when there are soooo many other books around here I am wanting to read. But for a much too proper book for my normal tastes, it is kind of a fun read.
I am currently reading 1984 and Steve Jobs: the Man who Thought Different for school. For pleasure, I am rereading Pride and Prejudice and reading for the first time Anna Karenina. I read a lot of books at once, so it usually takes me a long time to finish one book. Also I am watching the Gilmore Girls series again because I can't get enough.
Finally started "The Lovely Bones" today; I've heard so much about it that when I found it for $0.10 decided it was past time to find out what all the fuss was about.
I`ve nearly finished The "Orphan Master`s Son" by Adam Johnson. This book is so different you just have to love it! Now, I`m very curious about the ending. I have a bad feeling about it:/
I just picked up and started reading Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay all of which are on The Rory Gilmore List and Boxalls 1001 Books to Read Before You Die. I also purchased a guilty pleasure read that I've read some good reviews on- Emerge by S E Hall. Hoping it's a good one :-)
I just finished a book,Ever My Merlin, so I'm not really currently reading anything. Though tomorrow I plan to start reading The Circle Cast: The Lost Years of Morgan Le FayGee, sensing a theme here?
Katherine, I loved "The Lost Symbol"; possibly my fav Dan Brown book so far. I've had "Inferno" sitting here for a couple of months now and just can't bring myself to get it started. Maybe after I finish "The Lovely Bones" I will get around to it. What did you think of "Inferno"?
Re: Lost Symbol and Inferno. I know we all have different interests in books/authors, but i LOVED Dan Brown's first 4 books, especially Angels and Demons [film too], but i thought he fell significantly short on Lost Symbol. InferNO ... you get the point. NO, not well written and simply the same old same old formula. I thought it was his worst book yet, and I gave it a "one star" on Amazon. It's a waste of money and time to read this book. I do believe I'm done with what was once a favorite author.
Pam wrote: "Re: Lost Symbol and Inferno. It was given to me as a gift, and I have picked it up a time or two and just can't get past the first couple of pages. I'm sure I will get to it eventually, but glad I'm not the only one not overwhelmed by it. I really enjoyed Deception Point and Digital Fortress, maybe he'll go back to something a little more diverse if this one doesn't do so well.

I do remember searching all over the Atlanta airport for the next in his series [among the first 4]. I only found an expensive paperback, so i waited for the trade pb to come out and then devoured it. I was a real follower then!
But to add to the question: WHAT ARE YOU READING NOW ... I'm reading the Almond Tree by Michelle Corasanti. It's quite amazing, as i've never read a novel that tells the story of the Palestinians. It's well written and very engaging. I'd place it high up on anyone's reading list, not only for the educational value but for the writing of the tale too. You'll not be disappointed.
Reading Middlesex currently. I'm enjoying it so far, but I do feel like the length of the book is unnecessary. To the person above reading Orphan Master's Son, that's on my list. (reading through Pulitzers). Looks excellent. Just finished March, and it's on the list of my favorites. Very well done historical fiction. I will definitely be reading more of Brooks' works.
still on The Circle Cast: The Lost Years of Morgan Le Fay it's a slow read and it doesn't help that I haven't been reading much
I'm readingLisey's Story by Stephen King ...has anyone read it? Or heard of it? If so, any thoughts?
Melanie wrote: "I am reading the Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath"Wow that book was really good! I read it about a year ago.
It was really good or just
really
really
weird...
I'm reading The Edible Woman. I'm into Atwood lately, it is quite an easy read and I'm enjoying it so far.
I'm reading Beautiful Creatures. I find it really easy to read and follow, although it's a little bit too 'tweeny' for me..
Julia ❤ wrote: "I'm reading Beautiful Creatures. I got about 45 minutes into it and turned it off. Didn't like the cinematography or acting at all, but that's just me.

I haven't seen the film yet, but I'm planning to once I finish reading the book. I agree with you on the male POV though, it's quite nice, actually.

I'm glad I read the book first because I likely never would have picked it up if I had watched the movie first, which would have been a shame.
Still reading what I was reading before...haven't been doing a lot of reading. Might read more or less after school starts back up.
I'm reading
and
and
and finally
and yes, I'm reading them all at the same time with a planned finish date for all of first week of September. Gosh, it just makes me giddy thinking about it lol

I'm reading The Good Thief
and Cloud Atlas
I should be done with both in the next few days and then I want to read Wicked
and The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate
which I just checked out at the library.
I'm reading The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket, and I think it's something that Rory really would've liked as a child/teenager. The character Klaus reminds me of her in a way..

oh the latter sounds interesting, let me know how you liked it when you finish reading it :)

Currently reading Anna and the French Kiss & enjoying it quite much. However, I don't really know if Rory would have enjoyed it. Definitely has the romance, just not something to stimulate the brain!
Emma wrote: "I'm reading Tuck Everlasting, and I'm really liking it so far!"oh that was a good book. i haven't read it in a while but i enjoyed it when i did.
I'm reading Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card cuz I haven't read it yet and I wanna see the movie only after reading it.
I just finished reading it, but Somebody Up There Hates You was AMAZING. If you're a fan of John Green's The Fault in Our Stars it's very similar storyline but also completely different. I would highly recommend it.
