Jennifer | 14 comments I read this book when I was in elementary school between 1986-1988. It was a blue book, and I have thought the name included "Mermaid House" for a while, but I can't find it. There were siblings who were either visiting or had just moved to this house on the coast, probably a northern Atlantic coast, because it was cold and rocky. There was something to do with a lost bracelet and a mermaid legend. Thanks!

Flannery (flannabanana) | 51 comments Okay, maybe you can just start ruling some out?

How about The Mermaid Summer? (More information from Amazon here.)

It was first published in '88. The cover is only sort of blue:) The Mermaid Summer by Mollie Hunter

Jennifer | 14 comments Thanks; I'm not sure if that's the one I'm looking for. I remember this being a hardback book, and it most likely was published some time before I read it. I am pretty sure I read it in 5th or 6th grade. It was one of my favorites in our library; just wish I could remember it. (This book looks interesting, though.)

Flannery (flannabanana) | 51 comments The Riddles of Mermaid House? I found info about it on another site and filled in the missing info as a librarian. It sounds like it could be it--though the blurb probably doesn't mention actual mermaids because it is a spoiler?

Oh, and here's the cover: The Riddles of Mermaid House by Dorothy Crayder
