We are going to have one thread for each book as now Goodreads has made a spoiler tag that you can use to put before anything that is a spoiler. Use your discretion as to what would be a pretty big spoiler and label it. Please put up to what page the spoiler is for.

To create the tag simply do this:

< spoiler> Blah blah blah spoilery stuff < /spoiler>

*Take out the spaces in both of the spoiler tag.

It will look like this:

Discuss away...

Ashley Lauren (ashleyllauren) I'm so glad that this book won - I originally nominated it so I would have an excuse to read it, and then read it anyway. I'd love to hear other's thoughts about it. I feel that my love for the book is a little skewed by my overall love for Portia and Ellen in general.

But - back to the book itself. What are people thinking as they get started? I have to admit that when I read the first few lines I was a little... nervous. I feel like the beginning comes off without much style. But now that I've completed the book I've found that it's one I find myself thinking about often. Normally I'm a big stickler for good writing style in a book that I like, but I've managed to forgive Portia on her lack of technique with this.

What are others' thoughts as they're starting the book?

I haven't been able to take part in a group read for awhile. I was talking with my brother last night and he mentioned most people cry during this book. Not sure I am up for a sad book right now, but I will get to it when I can. :)

Ashley Lauren (ashleyllauren) That's fair! I don't remember crying... I might have welled up at one point... but it is good to know (and it's not really a spoiler, since she's such a prominent figure) but she is currently leading a happy and healthy life, so it doesn't end sad!
