We are going to have one thread for each book as now Goodreads has made a spoiler tag that you can use to put before anything that is a spoiler. Use your discretion as to what would be a pretty big spoiler and label it. Please put up to what page the spoiler is for.

To create the tag simply do this:

< spoiler> Blah blah blah spoilery stuff < /spoiler>

*Take out the spaces in both of the spoiler tag.

It will look like this:

Niel | 390 comments I finished it in 7 hours it was good but some parts were just to unrealistic for the setting of the story.

A. S. I agree with Daniel. I finished the book in less than a day, but parts of it were pretty unrealistic for a story that happens in present-day NYC. For example, (view spoiler) Additionally, I thought it was weird that Pilot would have any inclination towards acting like a guard-dog/pet. Guide dogs usually remain calm and are trained not to play but to help their masters. I thought Linda was too nice for what she was supposed to have gone through. And I was really uncomfortable (view spoiler) It was also hard to believe that no one had thought about the story of Beauty and the Beast while this whole thing was going on. There were a few references to fairy tales, plus the IM interludes (view spoiler) but aside from that, not one funny joke about the situation or genre-savvy quip.

What I did like was the interaction between Will and Kyle. I also thought the author did a terrific job of getting into the mind/voice of a ninth grader in the modern times: there was a balance between love and lust in Kyle's brain, so it was between the extremes shown by Gossip Girl and Twilight. And Kyle was fantastically shallow, which at times made it hard to read, but when I sat down and thought about it, I do know some people who were that shallow at that age.

Niel | 390 comments I agree with A's review it some up most of how felt about the book.

Beks (bekster15) Now I do agree with the Linda portion of A's review I think that if we are buying that the kid is getting cursed we should be allowed to buy into a magic mirror for as long as magic is participating in the story.

One thing I liked was the structure. The novel was divided up in to 7 parts - a wonderful magic number.
